May 8, 201214 yr Ah I see yes I have ignored this for sometime we all experience this your not alone not sure what it is but my first thought it has something to do with the texture files or (repaints) maybe pmdg could chime in, I am not sure but like you would lie to know how to fix it, thanks for posting screenie. Rich Sennett
May 8, 201214 yr Well, if I'm not alone, I'm more relaxed. I thought I was doing something wrong in the configuration of the lights. Thank you very very much, Richard. Best regards Cristiano Mueller
May 8, 201214 yr No problem Cristiano great question, I have been spending so much time learning to fly never got around to this problem but hey I'll do a search now and see if I can come up with something, take care buddy. Rich Sennett
May 8, 201214 yr Just another thought the more I look at it looks like the model resoultion appearing as line when the light hits the model it shows that thr aircraft model is probablly dumbed down to keep the fps decent on all computers just a thought but thats what I would put my money on and if thats the case nothing can be done about that have to live with it so hope that helps. Take care. Rich Sennett
May 9, 201214 yr Guys That's what I'm talking about. Any ideas?? Use the "fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx" light for the landing lights. I found for me that I do not get the banding when I used those lights in the aircraft.cfg file. I went through every light and tested them all. It works for me. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
May 9, 201214 yr Steve you say use "fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx" what do you mean by this, are you saying change the text in cfg file not sure, thanks so much. Steve can you post your cfg's please, thanks. Rich Sennett
May 9, 201214 yr Steve you say use "fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx" what do you mean by this, are you saying change the text in cfg file not sure, thanks so much. Steve can you post your cfg's please, thanks. Here are my -600 aircraft.cfg light settings. Yes I edit the light type in the aircraft.cfg file. The ones with "old" in the name are the wing lights that shine on the side of the fuselage. [LIGHTS] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin light.0 = 4, 32.390, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight light.1 = 4, 30.890, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight light.2 = 5, 4.50, -8.24, 0.32, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx // Shockwave light light.3 = 5, 4.50, 8.16, 0.30, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx // Shockwave light light.4 = 6, 27.60, 0.00, -5.45, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_old.fx // Shockwave light light.5 = 5, 5.70, 3.65, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short.fx // Shockwave light light.6 = 5, 5.70, -3.65, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short.fx // Shockwave light Here's what they look like in FSX. No banding of the lighting against the fuselage. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
May 9, 201214 yr Ok after more invetigation in sim model is fine if you rotate around the side a bit its some sort of reflection thing going on if your straight on to the side view of the aircraft the lines or reflections whatever you want to call it are gone if you start to rotate around a bit they start to become more obvious so again not sure what thats about but no biggie. Ah Steve your awesome thanks pal. Rich Sennett
May 9, 201214 yr Tried it Steve its better than what I had but still see some banding near the bottom of the bird so thanks buddy :) nice shot :) Dave tried your xeons pretty neat but way to bright causing huge amounts of banding thnaks for posting. Rich Sennett
May 9, 201214 yr Tried it Steve its better than what I had but still see some banding near the bottom of the bird so thanks buddy :) nice shot :) You're welcome! I'm sure the various differences in hardware and graphics settings affect some of the differences with what you see versus what I see. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
May 9, 201214 yr Yes and the repaint the lighter the belly the more banding you are the best Steve thank you. Rich Sennett
May 9, 201214 yr Yes and the repaint the lighter the belly the more banding you are the best Steve thank you. I just loaded my Pan Am -700 since it is an all white bird for the most part. Yes...you are correct, there is still a very small amount of banding, but it's on at a very small forward angle. Here's the faint banding I see. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
