May 4, 201214 yr Richard, with the exception of some birds (like the NGX) I'm still using them. Regards,Axel
May 4, 201214 yr I use the shockwave lights for the landing and taxi lights only. If I want a daytime picture where you can't see them, I just turn them off for the picture. I'm sure it's all about personal preference. I did have to play around with the lights to get the right ones so they do not show any badning/distortion on the side of the fuselage by the lights near the wing roots. Personally I like the bright glow at dusk and at night. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
May 4, 201214 yr IMAO, those shockwave lights doesnt look really realistic, have you ever seen such lights in RL? like pmgds style, pretty the same as on the original ngs´ If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot

Shockwave is a little too bright and the originals is candlelight!! Shockwave looks better at night! Why is it so hard to get good lights, I would like to know?? Regards Robert

May 8, 201214 yr I think too many people forget that FSX is a simulation and as such allow s us to 'bend the rules' a bit and change things to how we prefer. If Shockwave lights are less realistic than some guys would prefer, then so be it. That is the best thing about simulation, we should be able to bend the rules so we get more enjoyment from changing the odd thing or two. Sure, I use Shockwave lights and while I agree they can be a little overbearing at times, I still prefer them to default. May 8, 201214 yr Guys Taking advantage of the topic, I was using the Shockwave 3D lights in NGX, but I noticed that the bottom of of the fuselage appeared "sliced" when the lights were turned on. Probably, I believe, this is due to a misconfiguration of the lights. Someone else is having the same issue? Or someone has a configuration where it does not happen? Best regards Cristiano Mueller
May 8, 201214 yr I'm at work now, but I will reinstall the lights and then I'll post a picture. But basically, the light does not flows through the fuselage, specially the landing lights, it stays with one aspect of "sliced". But later I put the picture here. Thank you Richard. Best regards Cristiano Mueller
