Well, if I've remembered correctly the NGX forum was opened in Dec, 2010, and was released on August 4th, 2011.

I am not PMDG staff, but I would say they've done this to keep the General forum for other topics and to make it easier for everyone to post messages and find posts related to their upcoming 777.
