April 23, 201214 yr Is it possible to disable the 2D panels?? What happens if I edit the panels.cfg and comment out the gauges or remove the panel info att the top for the 2D panels?? Will the NGX go crazy? I only run in VC with Ezdoc. The only 2D I use sometimes is the FMC during flight, not during planning then I zoom in to it in VC. Just wonder, I have the 32-bit WinXP Prof. and need all power I can get. Why I ask is that in the Performance settings via FMC I lowered the 2D settings down to 5 and if I am not completly wrong I gained 5-8 FPS in overall. Anyway I could taxi around at Mega Heathrow with a lot smoother feeling, FPS was up around 20+ during taxi to runway. With all things running like UT2 and AS2012. Anyone tried this? Turning off the FO side looks a little wrong. So why not turn of 2D if not used Maybe first question should be: Are they running at all when not shown? Anyway I think they are loaded when loading the airplane so why not get updated aswell if you switch to it. FMC is in sync when you click on it to get the 2D version. I think I will first try setting Perormance to 0 (zero) and see what happens. If it does it's ok by me. When I lowered it the first time I was in a middle of a flight so I did not dare to set it to zero in case it "#&%&?, you know. April 24, 201214 yr The 2d panels only take up resources when they're being used. If you load into the vc & stay in the vc it doesn't make any difference. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64

So I will try setting 2D to zero in Performance tab maybe it does something positive. If it screws up I have found what file it is saved in and can get it back from a backup. April 24, 201214 yr Commercial Member The 2D does not affect the VC at all - Kenneth is right. The 2D settings change nothing if you're in the VC. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 24, 201214 yr Commercial Member To steal the show slightly here, is there a way to exclude it in the View Rotation? If I hit 'A' to cycle views, it'll cycle through and eventually go back to the 2D. Thinking back to the days I'd mess with all that stuff (FS2002), is there an easy way to edit the panel.cfg to skip it? Kyle Rodgers
April 24, 201214 yr Author Try comment out or delete the panels at the very top?? Sounds a little crazy but looks like it's the only way to make FSX forget those panels. April 24, 201214 yr If you delete 2d panel, you will see just external view (from the imaginary cockpit), so 2d would be gone, but placeholder for 2d panel will stay in cycle. April 25, 201214 yr And if you want to use FS2Crew in the future (or if you use it already), they recommend to start by default in 2d panel, in order to work properly. Valentin Rusu AMD Ryzen 9950X3D OC, Asus RTX 5090 OC, DDR5 64GB @6000MHz, Samsung 9100 NVMe for MSFS2024
