I don't post much, but I got to jump in on this one....... (I'm not affiliated with PMDG in any way, just a satisfied customer)It's already been stated that we've known for a long time that the 800/900 would be and ADDON.I think given all you receive the price on this is actually a bargain if you're into a high fidelity airliner simulation. Consider this (these are just off the top of my head and probably a very small part of the feature set)-* the very best support I've seen. It's not often were the users have a chance to interact with the developers of the product and not a representative of the company. These guys don't just provide excellent support, but listen to the feedback customers give and where possible incorporate this feedback as new features in future releases.* the aircraft has modeled the majority of the systems, unlike other addons, where the switches flip (or don't) yet don't do anything. In this aircraft (it's actually closer now to being a separate simulator in its own right) the systems interact. An example would be a system that depends on hydraulic pressure (like the autopilot)would not work if you forgot to enable the hydraulic systems. The majority of addons I see give you a pretty paint job and panel but it's mostly cosmetic, unlike the PMDG product* an FMC that according to beta testers that are real NG drivers, is pretty darn close to the real thing. * FREE LIVERIES! and every one I've seen is of beautiful quality. It blows me away how much extra work these guys do to not only make sure the inner workings are as detailed as possible, but the model satisfies eye candy fans as well! I used to not care much about the exterior models, but with the PMDG, I can't help but admire the beautiful liveries. Some other vendors charge for this.* with the 800/900 update, a fully featured TCAS* fantasic flight model - a joy to hand fly* fantastic FMC/ autoflight systems - a joy to sit back and admire the exterior models :-)* very complete set of documentationmuch more than I can think of at this hour ;-)To all those that pass, more fun for us - don't let the door whack you on the way out......
