Featured Replies

Have I got this right? As a non-owner of the PMDG 737NG product, to be able to purchase the new 737-800 product, I have to pay US $39.95 plus US$22.95?I don't think so! Looks like I will just have to wait for the Dreamfleet product.Barry

Ok.

Barry,You could just buy the 600/700 version. It is an incredible plane that is definitely worth its price IMOH. I could not resist buying the 800/900 as well and all I can say is that I am extremely happy with it. PMDG definitely raised the bar another time. Best regards,Henri

Fine, dont buy it. More planes for us :-lol

I agree with an earlier post that the flight sim community is the most spoiled group of hobbyists in the world. We get so much bang for our entertainment buck, but we still don't want to fairly compensate people for their time and effort. The original PMDG 737 has given me literally 200 hours worth of entertainment for $39. It is a rock solid high quality product. Let me think of some other entertainment/hobby expenses I've incurred in the past two daysgreen fees to play golf Friday - $52dinner/movie with wife tonight - $65 (oh, and another $40 for a babysitter)Those activities are over in done in hours, yet the PMDG upgrade is going to be something I'll continue to use for the rest of the year. Heck, I think it's a pretty good bargain. We have been so spoiled by high quality add-ons for free or cheap. But as it takes more and more resources to build high quality add-ons, we should expect to pay for it. If you can't afford it, don't want to spend the money or don't like it, there are literally thousands of freeware options for you.I'm sure PMDG sets their price to what the market will bear. And as long as they continue to churn out incredible software, they will continue to earn my money.

I gotta agree with this guy. As a non-owner of the PMDG 737NG I am a bit perplexed at this packaging. The only possible way to purchase the 737-800/900 is to spend $63.00? Ummmm, and he is called spoiled for being a little shocked? I don't give a rat's arse; that is outrageous pricing. You can cook up cost comparisons all day long but they really are irrelevant. I think for you guys that already bought the NG its a great deal...but for the rest of us, far from it.

"Athlon XP 3200 Epox 8RDA+2 X 512MB DDRRadeon 9700 ProWinXP"CPU's for flightsimming can be outrageous too! It's all where your priorities are. CPU's or increased realism in simulated aircraft..L.AdamsonAthlon 1900XP/Geforce3Ti500512DDRram

Your loss Bazza!Tight arsed Aussie skinflint - just like me only difference is I have both.Dreamfleet - you will wait forever for that one.Comment on MHawk""I think for you guys that already bought the NG its a great deal...but for the rest of us, far from it."How is it any different? We have paid the bucks up front and they in turn have funded the efforts of the PMDG team to not only add to the range of flyable options but have lifted the panel bar even further. The quoted comment above has more logic holes than can be found in a piece of swiss cheese.Andy b

Where were all these complaints when PMDG first announced exactly how this was going to work a couple of months ago? Is this actually news to all of you? I've always viewed this as $60 for a complete set of 737NGs. When I first purchased the 600/700, I had already read and understood that I was basically buying a partial, as yet to be completed, package for $40 with a further upgrade to be purchased later at a lesser price that would add the 800/900 and upgrade the panel. People seem to be under the mistaken impression that the 800/900 is a stand alone product. PMDG has always stated that it would be an upgrade. I find these sort of complaints many many days late and many dollars short. Why weren't you people raising cane back when it would have done some good?BTW the April issue of Scientific American has an interesting article titled "The Tyranny of Choice". I find that the unhappiness being demonstrated here by some people seems to fit the thesis of the article. That choices, or in this case a perceived choice, tends to make people more unhappy than if they were never given a choice. Perhaps PMDG should have just held off releasing the 600/700 until the entire NG family was complete and then release it as one package at the final price.

>tends to make people more unhappy than if>they were never given a choice. This is why so many people feel at home under socialist-marksist regimes. They prefer when someone make choices for them. Where to work, where to live, what to watch on TV, what books to read ...Too bad I stopped my subscription to Scientific American long time ago. Excellent magazine.Michael J.

Maybe these guys should move to North Korea.

Why not look at it as $31 per year over two years given the releases have been almost 12 months apart.Imagine the uproar if PMDG had held it back for a year, the issues that were present at the start were only discovered after full release and people had just paid $60 for the package? BTW, I think the reference to PDRK are a tad unjustified and not in good taste.Andy b
