May 1, 201214 yr Hi Julian. It was after I had posted that question to you, I realised that you were on the same time zone at ORBX, and just as it's way past 01:00am here now for me, you'd be out of sync. Ah, well. Never mind. I'll wait patiently for that day when somebody at ORBX changes their minds and we can all gorge on their feast of a Sale. I've already spent a tidy fortune this time around. On a different topic, my brother has a place in Queenstown just below that ski-lift that goes to the top of that mountain. As I'm running out of hard drive space, will wait to install NZSI which is a hefty 3.5GB, but would you happen to know if that ski-lift is replicated in the scenery? Rick Almeida

Hi Rick, There is a number of ski fields in Qtwn, Remarkables, Cardrona, Coronet Peak, depends which one. Also there is The Qtwn Skyline Gondola which takes people to the Skyline Luge and restaurant. That is located in the township itself.(could that be it ?) Of course the ski fields are some distance from town. There is a little village near Coronet Peak called Arthurs Point, could that be where your brother lives ?. Cardrona is halfway between Wanaka and Queenstown, There are residents who live in that location, on the Crown Range. Anyway, will have a look for you. gives me an excuse to fly a chopper :) System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. May 1, 201214 yr Hi Julian. Spot-on.I meant that gondola Skyline as I have only seen a video he sent me, but my memory was a bit vague, and hence referred to it as a ski-lift. It's the one that goes into the town. His place is just at the foot of that Skyline in the township itself. He also mentioned something a ski-plane landing hikers or skiers in a glacier, but where exactly, again, I cannot remember. I'm getting on these days!! Thanks nevertheless. And I want an excuse to visit him in NZ, one day. Rick Almeida
May 1, 201214 yr Author Hi Rick, Will have a look for you. BTW, I was in the tourist industry for 30 odd years, so I know Queenstown well, I have probably passed your brother n the street. There is only 12K people live there in the high season, most are from Europe or South America on a working holiday. If you do visit, there will be a warm welcome here. System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. May 1, 201214 yr If you do visit, there will be a warm welcome here. Thank you very much for that kind and generous invitation. Forgot to add in my last post, that my brother currently lives in just outside Perth. He is an engineer who maintains those huge mining excavators somewhere up Broome or Geraldton way. Married to a New Zealander, a nurse, who sadly is suffering from Parkinsons. I'm gutted for them both as you already know my own personal tragedy. Time to hit the hay. Have a nice day. Rick Almeida
May 1, 201214 yr Julian, Rick@ as information, you may be pleased to know that Orbx are currently working on Queenstown airport for NZSI. May 1, 201214 yr Thanks for that Howard. It backs up what PC Pilot had stated in their Review of NZSI. Just out of interest, as you guys seem to have more experience than I do of these sceneries from ORBX, as they are a considerable size, is it possible to run them from another drive other than the drive where FSX resides, i.e., D:\ instead of C:\, et al as my C:\ is running critically low? May 1, 201214 yr Author There was a post recently about that Rick. I believe not. Something to do with the object lib, and people flow. Hi, you can run your entire FSX from another drive. Self installers for Orbx place them into your main FSX folder wherever you have installed FSX, so if you install your FSX onto another drive with lots of space there will be no issue. Orbx installers locate FSX from the computer registry location. Its possible to reset this location if necessary by using a freeware registry fix for FSX should it be required. For instance I have my FSX on a D: drive with 2 terabytes total space, totally dedicated to FSX. I deliberately installed it there. Orbx script installers check the registry and see that it is located on the D drive and install the various components in the correct locations under FSX folder on the dedictated D drive. There are various modules which will be updated like dll.xml located on your C: root drive which do not require much HD space and that contain specific information about Orbx modules required to run say objectflow. If space is a problem, then it is also possible to install other sceneries (say freeware) not Orbx onto a totally different drive and have them added though your scenery library. I would not recommend spreading your scenery around to several different drives however as this will slow your performance. Getting one massive drive like I have works fantastic, I also then have the entire thing backed up into another drive. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
May 1, 201214 yr Thank you for that detailed advice, 1st fltsimguy. Ok, going by what you have advised her, is it possible for me to move all my other sceneries such as FSDT, Flightbeam, Aerosoft, etc, etc to another partition and thus free up drive space and just leave FSX and ORBX on the main OS drive, i.e. C:\ ?
