How to improve your enjoyment of Flight and this Flight forum

Ban people who hate Flight? Like Arwen perhaps?

Haven't been here for a while, did Arwen get banned?

Everyone complains these days about every thing, and so many are so sensitive to opinions that they don't hold. Frankly, I'm fed up with it.

How does repeatedly stating "I hate Flight, Microsoft screwed us hardcore simmers, stupid flying car game, its not a Sim, etc", add anything meaningful to a discussion about Flight. It is these type of troll posts that ruin a discussion. It just gets old seeing the same crap posted over and over. I am fed up with it.

I think if you let people vent, they get tired of it..and let steam out. But the reason they keep popping up is that people are not allowed to vent by rules created for Flight forum. I'd say let them let out steam until it dies down.

I believe she resigned as a moderator and may be taking a break from the forums.

There is an irony in the haughty chauvinism that the "in" crowd banters about in this forum. While I no longer give a toss and only peek in here to take the "pulse" of Flight (3 cockpit-less planes as all of the new DLC since release tells me what I need to know), I was misled by the title of this thread. But alas, it is just fans doing what they do best.

It's okay, I no longer bleat against the obvious with Flight - it has calculatedly left some of us behind - the end.

But I am bemused at the incredibly bad behavior and attitudes that are allowed to persist now that most of us have been run out of town. Snarky doesn't even begin to describe it. That Flight has caused a schism and rift amongst those that prefer MS Flight Simulators is quite obvious. Predictably, many will goad and gloat over it. I suppose the silent majority of casual flight gamers are having their moment and enjoying "thumbing it" at the disenfranchised. I can only see further dissolution and balkanization of our community.

I particularly like how Luiz feels compelled to call those who left after clearly being made to feel unwelcome "losers." Wonderful attitude.

However, honestly, please do enjoy Flight.

I seriously misjudged her then.

Actually, I agree with this to a point. If you don't like something that vehemently, post ..vent..give some reasons. Then move on. But doing it over and over is just annoying to those trying to discuss the pros and cons product.

I am not against negative posts when they add value to the discussion.

The way I interpreted is that the ###### kept criticizing her for "allowing" people to say negative things about Flight, and she got fed up and left.

###### are just as destructive to a forum as haters.

It's not about what your opinion is... it's how you say it. If you express yourself well in a mature, thoughtful, educated and tolerant manner (whether your opinion is positive or negative), you will be listened to and you may even influence the opinion of others.

If you rant, rave and insult, you will never accomplish anything useful.

Agreed!!. Before someone posts ask yourself, "Would I say this to the person if they were standing in front of me."

It is all too easy to hide behind an avatar. It is also easy for a written post to evoke a tone that may not have been intended.

Problem is that the administrators decided to not allow ANY negative opinion; even if expressed in mature polite way. They created the rule that says only posts that help others are allowed in Flight forum. Based on that rule this whole thread should be banned. Praises for flight should be banned too for they are not intended to help users with their problems. But they decided to only enforce the rule to negative posts about Flight. That was a hypocritical enforcement and I believe thats why Arwen quit. It was a courageous principled move. I applaud her for it.

Not that anyone cares  but I removed my (very short) ignore list today. I got sick and tired of clicking on 'View it anyway?' Apart from that: things seem to be cooling down a bit... Nice.

I don't know why I found your comment funny :Just Kidding:. Perhaps I can imagine myself doing the same thing. I don't think I could ignore and then not wonder what it was being said. Have fun guys.

I know I have bad things to say about FLIGHT, but I also have good things to say. But I see the trend is those who like it wholeheartedly, want to silence those who don't.

If that is true then it is as bad as folks who dislike it trying to silence those who do. It seems to me that we should all be able to have a grown up discussion about the merits or otherwise of Flight.

yeah, why can't we all just get along? :-)

Too simple.

Opinions don't get Ignored, positive or negative.

Insults, harassment, and other obnoxious misbehavior does tend to get someone Ignored, whether the person's opinion is positive or negative.

An Ignore List isn't silencing anyone. It isn't censorship. It isn't avoiding differing opinions. It's simply walking away from an irritant.
