How to improve your enjoyment of Flight and this Flight forum

Featured Replies

Too simple.

Opinions don't get Ignored, positive or negative.

Insults, harassment, and other obnoxious misbehavior does tend to get someone Ignored, whether the person's opinion is positive or negative.

An Ignore List isn't silencing anyone. It isn't censorship. It isn't avoiding differing opinions. It's simply walking away from an irritant.

The things you speak of are things that violate the rules of the forum and shouldn't require us having to add a member to an ignore list. Too bad it has to come to that.

Hi Folks

(DELAFINA did a fine job of silencing me...

but that's okay, my freedom of speech isn't all that important) ;-)

Your ban was nothing to do with your freedom of speech,

it was supposedly for you having repeatedly spammed the beta forums.

PS

I thought your previous cardboard cockpit post was excellent. :good:

Yes, in general, but some of them are subtle enough about it that it takes a while before the Mods have finally had enough of them.

For example, in one fresh thread, someone is asking about toe brakes not working on his rudder pedals. One of the people who habitually denigrates Flight, it's devs, and anyone who actually enjoys Flight responded with "Toe brakes are most often found in flying simulations, hence they are not included in MS Flight. An Xbox controller is probably a better choice, although many are having success with the mouse."

That's an off-topic jab. By itself, it doesn't obviously run afoul of the posting rules. But taken in context with all his other posts, it's becoming clear that he has nothing useful or relevant to say, so why should I waste my time reading his disparaging commentary?

I agree, some people just won't let something go. I completely understand.

I sent you a message about the spamming issue...if you care to know the truth. If not, that's okay too. (I didn't want to hijack the thread).

As far as i know the flight beta forum is no more a beta forum since the release of Flight.

Nothing MS produces is being tested anymore by betatesters so it is basically a private forum where no one does nothing regarding the beta since 2 months.

Basically that's an empty box, I know that for certain.

It isn't the beta forum he/we are referring to, its the Connect discussion board for FLIGHT

That's the same. If you sort the bug and suggestions by the most voted you will see that the first 30 results have been ignored at all by MS.

Anyway I was referring to the ban mentioned relative to beta forum.

Mark II, perhaps we could move this discussion to another thread. But I hear ya, I was there too. The #1 I think was ATC.

Cheers for your PM, and for not hijacking the thread.

Not that anyone cares  but I removed my (very short) ignore list today. I got sick and tired of clicking on 'View it anyway?' Apart from that: things seem to be cooling down a bit... Nice.

Ha! I know what you mean. I occasionally put people on ignore on Amazon's Kindle forum, but that "Somone on your ignore list has posted a message" message always piques my curiosity, so what's the use?

I understand the sentiment that prompted your original post, however. Some things I don't mind arguing about, but Flight is a leisure activity to me. I don't want to get all worked up about its shortcomings, or read the comments of those who do.

That is factually incorrect, Mark. Those few of us remaining active in the beta forum (Connect) did in actual fact throughly "beta test" the Aerocache fix for several days before it was ultimately release to the public. Your "certainty" is misplaced sir... :Nerd:

I think they're going to keep using the beta forum for a while, they only just brought in a few of us from Steam during the Aerocache Bug fiasco, and that seemed to go well. I wouldn't be surprised if they continued to use us as guinea pigs for Title Updates and bug fixes like that.
