April 26, 201214 yr Those of us in the computer industry will be familiar with the 'hype cycle' With Flight we've been through the peak of inflated expectation (this is going to be FS-11, DLC will fix the shortcomings, Microsoft are listening/care....) and are clearly in the trough (this is a POS, MS are *****, they just want kiddies spending their parents money). This is good news! The slope of enlightenment awaits ... there will be some good DLC eventually, the user community are finding kernels of expandability, MS are just a company that need to make money to feed their children / Porsche / habits, Flight is just a bit of fun and not an obsession. Cheers Keith ...
April 26, 201214 yr +1 ;-) Those of us in the computer industry will be familiar with the 'hype cycle' With Flight we've been through the peak of inflated expectation (this is going to be FS-11, DLC will fix the shortcomings, Microsoft are listening/care....) and are clearly in the trough (this is a POS, MS are *****, they just want kiddies spending their parents money). This is good news! Those of us in the scientific sector could look at the fancy graph and ask: in which measurements units is expressed the "Visibility"? Because you know, a graph without units is open to all the possible interpretations (For example, from that graph is impossible to distinguish a possible success title from a flop) A.
April 26, 201214 yr My graphic would be more like this... :( CASE: Fractal Terra Silver CPU: AMD R5 7800X3D 5.0Ghz RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 Ti SUPER · SSDs: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe · PNY XLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 PCIe · VIDEO: LG-32GK650F QHD 32" 144Hz FREE/G-SYNC · MISC: Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Joystick + Throttle Quadrant · MSFS2024 · Windows 11
April 26, 201214 yr The slope of enlightenment awaits ... there will be some good DLC eventually, the user community are finding kernels of expandability, Well, many of us have posted that we see lots of potential for expandability. However, from the developers we receive total silence. Who knows where they are planning to take the game? Sorry to be so negative on this subject but how could one be otherwise considering the very, very poor interraction between the development team and their serious long term customers. Had to vent, sorry.
April 26, 201214 yr since we're comparing data - so far the OP has one positive response, two negative responses, and one negative with an explanation (great to see you, Trevor) I just wanted to even it out a bit by posting a positive response - thanks for the OP, and I'm willing to wait and see what happens. Not quite ready to damn Microsoft for giving us another computerized flying option but I would REALLY like to see a helicopter!
April 26, 201214 yr since we're comparing data - so far the OP has one positive response, two negative responses, and one negative with an explanation (great to see you, Trevor) If you counted also mine as negative response you are wrong. I simply asked clarifications about the units, because without them the graph doesn't actually represent nothing with a sense. I am actually curious to know how the "Visibility" is determined in similar cases. A.
April 26, 201214 yr The graph simply shows the typical trend, which generally holds true regardless of the actual quantities. All that can be gleaned from it is that "You think things will be great, you realize they are terrible, then they get better, but not as good as you had originally hoped." It cannot be used to measure success or failure.
April 26, 201214 yr Case in point, Duke Nukem. Massive hype, and long awaited after I believe an 11 or 14 year development cycle. Then they released it and it was a turkey. The devs were then going to fix it but didn't. Now its a bargain based game....
April 26, 201214 yr Author It's really about managing your own expectations and understanding how things generally work. Avoid the hype, ignore the disillusionment and try to get productive ASAP. Meanwhile I'm trying to get Take-On Helicopters to work, cos I'd 'really like a helicopter' too. :-) Cheers Keith ...
April 26, 201214 yr Very nice! Just too bad the trough seems to be the size of the Grand Canyon around here :) Aaron

Cheers Keith Said it much better than me. I can feel the flows, but its harder to explain it. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically......
