May 1, 201214 yr Decided to see what happens when you set AS 2012 to use a maximum of 20 cloud layers.. The results in Prepar3D.. Mixed bag really. Sometimes it looked spectacular unlike anything I've ever seen before. While other times it was just plain ugly with so many cloud variants clustered together. Fun times. May 2, 201214 yr I wonder when a simulator with a realistic sky will be released... ^_^ RoyalSkies.CO.UK Youtube Vidz !My website will be back soon with new paints and videos! May 2, 201214 yr Author Locked at 30, averaged 28.. All scenery sliders to the right except mesh (5m) and water (clouds and sky reflection), no Airliner AI, 10% GA, no car/ferry/ship traffic and I was running in Crossfire since Prepar3D handles that better than FSX did. Clouds in Prepar3D don't bog down ATI cards like they did in FSX. Was using AS 2012, 1024x1024 DXT5 3D clouds and DXT1 Cirrus. I tried Hi-Res 4096 uncompressed clouds and even 4X SSAA in Crossfire caused both GPUs to max out at 100% load. But that's to be expected.
