money no object ? Buy a real airplane my friend.... that is unless you already have one :Hypnotized:

I have millions, and a real plane too, but I still want a sharp PC for my PMDG 737 NGX :-)

Thank's all for your time and useful info, I'll report back on my new build.

And ....POW, .......right in the kisser..... :fool: ............. :good:

Morten,

If you want the most insane system ever, go for something like this:

Intel Core i7 3960X

Nvidia GeForce GTX680

32GB DDR3 2400

Corsair AX1200 Power Supply

Corsair Obsidian 800D

OCZ 480GB Revodrive

Asus Rampage IV X79 Motherboard

Corsair H100 Watercooling

^^If only I could afford this LOL

If you want the most insane system ever, skip the H100 and get custom water cooling or even a chiller!

Why not go for a custom multi-stage phase change unit for sustained sub-zero temps? And get the new 3GHz RAM kit while you're at it. Perhaps even a GTX 690 rather than a 680, assuming you want to run super hi-res + AA.

$3000 option for -37 degrees is rather high... That was possible 10 years ago with the likes of the Prometeia Mach II GT, and for closer to $1000 at that. Still, nice to see someone trying to commercialize phase change again. Too bad OCZ's CryoZ concept never got to store shelves. At $300-400 it was an unbelievable bargain. Too good to be true though. Perhaps someday someone will figure it out. Until then I e can always take their water cooling radiator and stick it in a mini-fridge ;)

That wouldn't be very difficult. You could run the tubing from your PC into pre-drilled holes into the fridge. Then attach fan extension cables and viola, you now have a 'chilled' system!

32 Gb way memory is to much

All extra memory that is not being used will slow down performance

With the rest I agree

Then what do you propose. Him put 2 sticks of RAM in a beefy system? - That will look 'weak'. LOL

With my 3 monitor setup and NGX, photo scenery VFR Germany with lots of autogen and over Frankfurt City with a view looking at EDDF with many AI traffic and lots of cloudlayers, my system, including Windows, uses up to 7.8 Gb.....

I had to turn the LOD radius down from 5.5 to 5.0 as sometimes my system reached 8 Gb and then Out Of Memory....LOL

With a normal setup ( 1 outside view monitor ) even 4 Gb should be enough.

So : 8 or 12 Gb should be enough.

16 Gb is overkill.

Precisely! A co-worker of mine is suggesting to do just that. If I had the space under my desk and decided I need at least 5GHz I would likely do it.

Keep it cool ! :Loser:

This is how it looks in my pc :

Beside that I made a 20 cm side fan in my case
