May 10, 200422 yr I think it's a very very good suggestion if there would be an English version of it. Mayby at this forum or somewhere else.Could somebody, who's kind of in charge at this forum, realise this request!!!!By the way at the dutch site www.FSMagazine.nl we already brainstromed about this question.
May 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Nauta, Fs team read this forum I can confirm you at 100%, but the really best way to suggest your wish for fs2006 are not doubt via [email protected], because they go direct to the team and they will never lost the information. Send them your wish many as you want. More the suggestion are send quickly more the suggestion will have the chance to be implemented because of the time line and coding required etc.. Also the suggestion are implemented from the most wanted in general users for major feature or smaller. May 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Dilion, Microsoft is world wide, have supports around the planet with all language from their product or anything related to microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/worldwide/ Here at avsim it`s in english, there is others web site are in french or any others language. If a person can`t communicate in english or others language, Ms have others divisions to heard from them or supports. In this case Microsoft want to heard from Francesim.com for MsFs 2006. May 10, 200422 yr Unfortunately my French is not up to scratch, so I'll just float an idea I have here and see what we get :-) I was thinking the other day, wouldn't it be nice to be able to select an aircraft from an airline's fleet. i.e. from the aircraft select menu, you also have a search box for airline. You then pick the airline you want to fly with, and it lists all aircraft that the airline flies.Any thoughts? Kinda simple, but I think it would be a nice addition :-) Alaister Kay
May 10, 200422 yr Thanks Chris for the explanation... I still don't understand the reasoning here. If Microsoft needs feedback, all the FS forums represent a worldwide view. Avsim has members from all the four corners of the world. Everyone is here as well as Flightsim.com and most notably Simflight. Simflight has various sister websites dedicated to different areas of the world... Microsoft needs look no further than the sites they themselves recommend on their website. Choosing one French website just doesn't make much since to me... May 10, 200422 yr I think it would be nice if they changed the scale of the next version. With modern graphics and computing power, you could almost double the size of the scale and still get acceptable performance. Looking at some recent wallpapers and screenshots I was left thinking that FS2004 doesn't actually do justice to the quality of some of the models available, because once they're removed from FS their true beauty is revealed - just look at the wallpapers of the PMDG B1900 or the shots of the Aero Commander here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=134987&page=2That level of detail has to fit into such a `small` world. Don't know what the pixel/cm ratio is now, though. Allcott
May 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Dillon, I agree with you, to be simple, Ms get most of the major feedback like you said, avsim forum, simflight.com forum and flightsim.com forum, and specialy [email protected], but they let the chance to some others web site to communicate. Also this french web site have a link to avsim at the bottom.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
May 11, 200422 yr AllcottIt's easy for a computer to display still immages of very high quality, but in a complex, real time program like FS9 that simply can't be done with todays PC technology. In some games that aren't otherwise as demanding as FS9 you will see graphics and effects that are far superior to FS. Hopefully in a few years, as hardware and software technology advance, we'll see these kind of graphics in FS. You won't see it in FS10 though. Hope I understood your post correctly; otherwise ignore this.David
May 11, 200422 yr Commercial Member David,I'm not sure I believe that. Have any of you guys seen the new PC first person shooter "Far Cry"? It is by far the most amazing looking game I've ever seen - it needs a hefty system to run well, but the level of detail and number of things going on are just astounding. The reason it looks so good and runs so well is because it's designed to truly take advantage of the current high end hardware - all the pixel and vertex shader stuff etc that are part of DirectX9. Far Cry also has some really advanced AI that the enemies use and a really impressive physics engine too, so it's not like it's just focusing on pure graphics. MS says FS2004 is a DirectX9 game, but it's easy to see looking at it that none of those advanced vid card features are being taken advantage of like they are in other games. So, my biggest suggestion for FS2006 is a completely rewrite of the rendering portion of the graphics engine to make it run super smooth and fast on the top of the line video cards that will be out when it's released. (I guess that'd be the sucessors to the 6800 and X800 series) MS creates DirectX, shouldn't one of their flagship games be taking full advantage of it - take a look at Far Cry's water modeling and imagine seeing that in FS... May 11, 200422 yr It may surprise some people to learn that most of the world does not speak English. Amazing, but true! And, that, therefore, many FS fans do not frequent English-language web sites.Probably, the Microsoft Game Division in Redmond is NOT seeking the opinion of Francophones through French-language enthusiast web sites. Rather, it seems to be the French Microsoft division located in Les Ulis outside of Paris who is responsible for the initiative. Just goes to show that there are fans of Flight Simulator even in that sober business environment.Perhaps the Italian, Swedish, Spanish, German, and Latin American divisions of Microsoft will also make the same kind of effort and try to get more user participation.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
May 11, 200422 yr I agree. It seems they still keep designing MSFS for 8 MB video cards computers. Right now only mesh scenery is handled by the video card - why not also offload things like 3D objects/clouds to the current generation of very powerful cards. Surely performance would be greatly improved. It seems the the base architecture of the MSFS remains in the 'dark' ages.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
May 11, 200422 yr I agree as well! And look at Doom3 graphics engine...The best for FS in my opinion, and for the end user, is to definitely get rid of the legacy SDK and file structures, and design FS10 as a brand new sim from the ground up.Sure many will say that their addon x won't be working anymore. Let's face it: how many FS2002 aircrafts / sceneries (advanced ones) run directly in FS2004, inspite of the claimed backward compatibility? furthermore, why complaining about performances with such or such addon where the main bottleneck is the FS SDK subsytem and panel rendering engine?I think it is time to move on new technologies and get rid of the past for once.Hope this helps!
