intresting thread1) planes to vacate the RWY faster and large airliners to taxi around 25Knots2) Cross runways ie 27 for arr, 16 for dep and vice versa without crashing3) ATC, on the ground, to give you a realistic parking spot ie in the right airline space4) AI planes better sound, more realistic pushback and not to start all engines at the same time5) Sids and STARS6) Better runway colors and effects7) option to declair an emergency8) in real life large airports have more then 1 tower freq9) Hopefully UT will work in fs1010) FIX THE TIMEZONE PROBLEM!!!!!!

Most of wht has been mentioned make sense. However, cannot see stars / sids being implemented as they change ALOT.I am a AI fan,so would like:1)FS Hotseat style take off and landing effects, which you could customise via SDK.2)Lets hear these AI aircraft starting up,hearing the engines spool up and hear the noise change up and down during taxi!3)Put AI aircraft / us simmers into a holding pattern. If it works in the real world, why not in fs.Would help cure formation landings.4)Make AI traffic follow airways, not just going direct gps routing.5)Make GA AI traffic go around (UK for example) class A,D airspace, not straight through it! Nothing more distracting than a C172 crossing the airspace on a low vis night time landing!6)If possible, regional ATC voicepacks but this is a HUGE task so unlikely. And thats it.

I'd like to see:1. realtime softshadows, every lightsource creates shadows and lights the surroundings appropriatly.2. New higher resolution Mesh for the whole world, based on the most accurate data available.3. 3d-textures, textures including 3d-information providing a very high resolution mesh according for low-level flying (example: A cliff-texture has 3d-grooves) Man, that would rock!:-hah 4. Much higher resolution textures and higher variation. Especially the desert textures are horrible.5. Improved autogen providing a "live autogen" displaying cars, boats, trains, people and animals. Trees and plants react to the weather, wave to the wind, get snowie, can burn etc.6. A totally new water engine! No textures anymore except in shallow waters. Only a color information and real 3d-waves with variable hights according weather and location. Correct water reflexions like in Silent Hunter III (no need for textures anymore). Rivers with current and Icebergs would be nice;-).7. Runways which aren't just one texture tile repeated and repeated again. I'd like to see rubber in the touchdown area, bump information included in the textures and a/c's reacts to it.8. Gates that work! You park your a/c and at the gate, the gates starts moving to your door and docks. People disembark. With a pop-up you control the gate.9. Pushback trucks on demand!10. Now one of the most important things! You can walk around in the simulator world freely! So you can start in the C-Office at the airfield making your preparations, going to the hangar lock it open, pull out the a/c, do a preflight check and start boarding your passengers! Flying is about freedom! Nothing more irritating, than being glued to the pilot seat!11. 5.1 sound implemention. Environmental sounds!12. Silky smooth performance without a stutter ever!!!13. Realistic physics engine providing a good base for FDE's.I still got tons of stuff in my head...I'd like to see a FS2006 that concentrats on providing a great virtual world, WE fill with planes. I don't want the MSFS Team to spend much time with tons of default planes. Better less planes, but higher quality and spend the time on developing the most immersive stunning environment ever created for PC simulation!cheers,:-beerchugClaudio

What really ticks me off is when the traffic that just landed ahead of you is so slow and won't get off the runway and you have to do a go around. I can understand one go around, but I had to do this many times before I was able to land. So I agree, aircraft that are on the runway need to hurry up! :)

Sincerely,

I figure it's about time I posted my thoughts to.I agree with the need for DPs and STARs.Holds would also be nice and would help with the traffic congestion in FS, seeing as how that is one of their uses.I also agree that VFR flight plans should have you handed over to tower. To add to that, in the real-world (in the US anyway, don't know how it's done else where), if you haven't filed a flight plan, you still are asked for your intended destination by ATC as some point along the route if you are talking to them. Perhpas it could bring up a little text box were you can type in your destination's identifier.More advanced GPS functionality would be nice as well. Being able to set up flight plans, custom waypoints (RNAV style), and use some of the navigational aid features would be nice. Perhaps we could see a Garmin 1000. One of UND's Seminoles is getting one installed, so it could perhaps be an option for the Baron.Another thing that would be kind of neat to see (not sure how difficult it would be to impliment) is perhaps downloading NOTAMs along with real-world weather. Though I don't know how practical PJE (Parachute Jumping Exersices) and the model rocket launch area ones would be fore FS. Navaid failures, runways closures, taxiway closures and flow control proceedures would be nice to see though. These readouts, like pretty much all aviation documents are heavily abrieviated and in a predictable layout that a computer program should be able to easily parse.I would definately like to see fully functioning avionics. The timer function on the ADF, for example, is a great tool for instrument flight that I use a lot in my real world instrument experience.Another thing I would like to see, if not from Microsoft than from a 3rd party, is a program for creating sceneries from GIS data like Terrascene for the Fly series. Something that you could select the bounds for your project, download the appropriate elevation, line graph and land use models and have it create the BGL with the line graphs, elevation mesh, and autogen land class for you.Perhaps a realism setting for aircraft aging that is stored in the Aircraft.cfg for the paticular paintset. It could run off a hobbs and tach time increasing the likely hood for failures unless taken in for maintenance. That's my list for now until I can think of some more ideas.John S. "There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. No matter what the name of the country on whose land it lies, an airport is a place you can see and touch that leads to a reality that can only be thought and felt." - The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story by Richard Bach

>For those who are not serious flight-simmers, the "realism>settings" can be simply set to "easy" so it won't be so tough>flying a Jumbo. For those who ARE SERIOUS - the simulation>should be as real as it can get to real flight simulators at>the most difficult realism settings.>**I'm willing to pay more for the above features as I believe>many flight simmers would too. Just make it stable and>realistic - NOT a game!!!>>JohnI can't speak for the fixed wings but for rotory MS2004 does feel like a game and a particuly bad one when it comes to helicopter flight modeling.
