June 3, 200422 yr Commercial Member With regard to visibility and winds, I woudl really REALLY like to see these abrupt changes in both gone forever in FS2006. The visibility changes really irk me - I'll be climbing out, seeing a very nice realistic looking haze type effect and then BAM as soon as I climb above the critical point it's all gone and I can see a hundred miles with nothing below me to indicate that the haze was even there. I have no problem with climbing above the visibilty layer, but the ground below you should not look perfectly clear like there was nothing in the air below you! June 4, 200422 yr Hi,Here's a very slight improvement I wouldn't mind seeing. Well, what I would consider a slight improvement anyway. When I go to spot view I prefer to not have the 'Gradual Transition' option enabled. Right now, every time I fly or change aircrafts I have to go into 'View Options' and uncheck Gradual Transistion. How about making it so that Gradual Transistion can be permanently turned off if one so chooses?Cheers,Jim
June 4, 200422 yr I have two wishes:That microsoft actually reads at least *some* of these suggestions, which consist out of 151 posts, mine being 152nd reply.Anyway, I don't even want to start with wishes list, I've seen some huuuge lists of wishes, which probably cover most of mine. But what I didn't see is the water texture problem, which is very obvious over water (I guess it happens on the ground also, but is harder to notice). When flying at FL250 and above, there is a very obvious line, where detailed textures stop. This so called "FS-Cross" (able to see from Top-Down view, if distance in miles is enough) is I guess the render area. And extended textures makes this cross smaller or bigger. Well, I wish that this cross either 1) is much bigger, so that one really doesn't notice it or 2) melts into non-rendering area. That effect of cut water is simply too nasty and definitely kills all realism when flying over water. Fix that please!!!
June 4, 200422 yr I know it's not very feasible, but I wish MS would have cycle updates for airports.A good example would be KFAR. Right now their main runway (17/35) is being torn up for reconstruction and they are using the taxiway as a runway.
June 4, 200422 yr Of course, DEN also happened to open the longest commercial use runway in the world before FS9 actually came out... but the dataset only included the original 5 runways. It would be nice, yes, to see runways and such updated at least. Construction, I think, would be a little tougher to play with, considering its variable nature, but... runways for sure, that's generally a pretty permanent thing :)~Nate
June 4, 200422 yr One item to add would be how instuments and gauges light up at night. If flying at night in VC and you have the inside light turned on you can still kinda make out the panel but lets say you open up the av window to see the radio the numbers (cessna, king air for example) light up regular orangge to where you can easily see them. This same brightness should be seen on the VC. Dimmable panel lights would be prefered but if not please just allow the gauges to be a little bit more lite up at night without having to turn on the inside cabin light.
June 4, 200422 yr >Another thing I would like to see fixed is this Autopilot>issue. I hate it when the plane suddenly goes up or goes down>the instant you take off the altitude hold button. I know>that this has been talked about before, and that is trim, but>not all of the panels have the trim indicator or it is very>differcult to tell how well you are trimmed at that altitude. >MS please fix this issue especially for people who still use>the keyboard. How realistic is it that on a real airliner a>pilot switches off the autopilot and the plane starts to dive>or to climb at an erratic rate. I certainly wouldn't fly on>that airline again.I have been using FS2002 for nearly three years ...... it has never happened to me! You must be using FS2000! :-lol Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
June 4, 200422 yr I actually would like to see Microsoft fix the extended textures issue all around, period... Whether it be over water or land, the autogen and detailed texture should extend farther out so there's no visual issue here. I also hate when flying over scenery like the Grand Canyon and seeing the various cliffs jumping into position almost right under you. The scenery should form in place farther out so as you get closer to mountains and/or canyons, the scenery isn't as noticeable jumping into it's proper shape/form as it is now. Now that I think about it everything in FS2k4 concerning scenery should extend much farther out. Whether it be the detail you see from the ground textures/autogen to the terrain mesh updating as you fly.Microsoft I hope you address this... June 4, 200422 yr I second that Kilstorm, those VC gauges should be lite up at night by default... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
July 12, 200421 yr Most people are getting their aircraft from 3rd party vendors. The scenery could be alot better. Add more autogen buildings...etc. It's kind of boring when your flying around certain places, and everything is dead. No building's, roads, and the terrain which should have trees is lifeless. Add more mountains, and fix the altitude of them especially for places like Switzerland. I have looked at 3rd party scenery for places such as Switzerland, New York, and Hong Kong that are extremely incredible. If Microsoft is worrying about frame rate hits...etc for computers lets face it, by the time Fs2k6 comes out everybody will probably own at least an Athlon 2XXX or P4 1.X. If you do get frame rate hits, adjust the scenery display to better suit your computer.P4 1.7256MB SDRAMRadeon 9700 se80GB HDNext ComputerAMD 2700 if not faster1GB 400MHZ SDRAMVideo card with at laast 256MB SDRAM80GB HD
August 1, 200421 yr Here is a perfect example of the severely flawed weather transition that Microsoft has not fixed for years.KSEA ATIS reports visibility at 1/8 mile 100 overcast.Looks VFR till I
August 13, 200421 yr Heres a basic one , fix the horrible cross you can see on the water texture at high alt over water where you can see the edge of the texture band with a sharp straight line where ligh bright water starts at night especially, and darken that water at dusk from that bright milky green colour Kavan
August 13, 200421 yr I agree whole heartedly on the lighting issue!!! If real lights were used (including sunlight) then wecould all get that realistic "sun baked" look!!!
August 13, 200421 yr -It sure would be nice to be able to see the windsocks from the air to know the active at an uncontrolled airport! I find this nearly impossible from anywhere above 500ft.-It would be nice to have a refueling invoice pop up when in front of a pump so you could order what you need- Different accents for the ATC and AI depending on location- Tall cumulus clouds for thunderstorms- Visible icing on the airframe- snow drifts and blowing snow/rain on runways- A good overcast- better lighting in the VC. The bright red is completely overwhelming in a darkened room- randomization in the ATC - occassional holds, airspeed limits, deviations for traffic- landclass and improved mesh as part of package
