One thing that I'd like to see (but I'm not sure how realistic it would be) is some kind of visual representation of the numerous float plane bases. The "water runways" are only visible on the GPS, but I'd like to see some buoys, a small swimming platform or a dock. That would really enhance bush flying.Just my 2c (EUR),VOlker :]

Here's one that I asked for in 2004 too:Pull the navdata out of the BGL files and make it updateable, either through your own agreement with Jeppesen, or through www.navdata.at 's service. This way, third party addons could all use the same navdata source and it'd always be up to date with the real world cycle revisions.

Scnenery: More detailed mesh and landclass preferably satalite imagery. Imagery should be clear and not blur as much as the Mega-scenery on low end videocards. You can fly a helicopter to a Concorde or F-18, 747-400 etc without it blurring. This applies to the whole world.Go back to fs2000 or 2002 water class. Or even create it like the freeware ones. FS2004 had incredably light water for oceans.All airports should have accurate buildings with jetways especially if they are major airports.Weather: Clouds that block the sun, dont have the sun shine on the aircrafts or buildings etc. That is unrealistic. So there needs to be ground shadows with heavy clouds and overcast conditions. If the clouds or overcast layer is not over the sun then the sun can shine on other objects.Visiblilty should be fixed. Having multiple layers of visibilty like clouds or having a graduated visibilty would be better. I know that fsuipc does this but not all of us want to pay what was once a freeware product. Visibility needs to be blue if the sky is blue and basically few to partly cloudy skies. Visiblity can be very light blue to white depending on the range and how cloudy it is. Visibilty should be grey during overcast conditions.Clouds should be proportioned to the altitude and the distance that you are from the clouds.Overcast Cirrus should look overcast and look white at high altitudes.Also a neat feature would be setting your weather from a satalite map much like your local news weather forecast and have the sim depict the conditions as you fly from LAX-JFK. I would like this feature better than creating weather with reporting stations. Never less perhaps have both.Atmosphere: When you climb up from 10,000 ft to higher altitudes have the sky turn dark as in real life conditons.

It's simple. Flight Unlimited 3 has better flight models, a better interface, better camera viewpoints and controls, a great VFR cockpit view (I personally prefer to see what's in front of me when I'm flying), excellent ATC, and is (in my opinion) a superior simulator of a flying environment than all versions of MSFS up to (and including) FS2002. I can't strictly comment on FS2004, but I cannot seriously believe that it is light years beyond FS2002.In short, some of us prefer the FU3 world to that of Microsoft Flight Simulator. In my opinion, MSFS is sterile....and boring.Chris Low.

When landing ATC ground shouldn't force you to go to a certain parking spot, you should be able to choose. I noticed when flying today if you don't go where they tell you, all other options (like takeing off again) are rendered mute until you go to the assigned space...MicroSoft I hope you guys fix this one... :-erks

FS2k4 is light years ahead of FS2k2, you should try it... :-lol

You tell me...Point is no one can get FU3 anymore if they wanted to so your point concerning FU3 is useless. If you like so many features in that sim, why don't you just suggest them to Microsoft like the rest of us are doing??? Your not helping anyone by upholding an obsolete sim that's not being sold anymore. :-boom I don't understand what your trying to prove here...Flight Simulator 2004 is the best game in town at this point so deal with it.. Either help us make FS2k6 a better sim or leave this thread alone

Well-It seems like this's going to be a long thread.For an "outsider" using different sims I am still not very convinced with the FS. flightsims.The graphics and effects is indeed improved, but loading this sim. I still have that bad feeling riding on rails like a game from 1995-98. I wish MS would redo the whole sim to simulate real forces both for the enviroment and for the aircrafts.Even if that would do all prevois addons uncompatible, I think this would be better on a long run.I still use older sims to have a good feeling landing and taking off from example water,- fighting crosswind and water friction,- also realistic turbulence. This was simulated very well already in 1997,- and I am very surprised that MS. has not done mutch to improve this aspect.A post above reference to the FU series.True!! -Sims like that is no longer made or supported by professionaldevelopers.This is old software, but still today will give you the most enjoyable flight and exitement.That's the main reason why many of us still use this old sims.Flightsimmers like us here is not the main target for games industry of today.
