June 26, 201213 yr Guys, Do you know if this plane is in development for FSX at all right now? I know Wilco has one, but I'm looking for something that is more in depth systems, FMC and AFDS. Something along the lines of the NGX? cheers Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
June 26, 201213 yr I don't know what you were led to believe but the Wilco/Feelthere 737PIC especially the new EVO package, is no lite system simulation aircraft. It models all systems, has an excellent FMC, perfoms LNAV/VNAV functions well, and it's auto land functions well. Right now for a classic 737 there is nothing that can touch it!! June 26, 201213 yr Actually, there are some parts of the Wilco EVO 737 that are more detailed than the PMDG NGX. It's a really very good simulation indeed. If I was to find a faukt with it, it would only be that the paint jobs are too clean and the paint kit is poorly organised. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 26, 201213 yr Author What do you think about the VC Chock, Im very spoiled with the NGX but Im getting bored of her too. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
June 26, 201213 yr I personally think it's ok. I know some claim the view perspective is off, but then again the same can be said of the NGX. I personally think the I-Fly VC has the best view perspective. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
June 26, 201213 yr I think the Wilco VC is indeed not as good as the NGX's, but it's not that bad either. It sort of grown on you after some flights. And as others have said, the Wilco Classic 737 is the best Classic there currently is... June 26, 201213 yr There are better VCs to be found, but I think the VC on the EVO is pretty good. Then again, it's not what I think that matters, it's what you think. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 26, 201213 yr I think what throws it off is that fixed glare shield in the middle, like the one on the default 747. Without it I think it would look much better, but still not terrible!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

Al As an owner of both products, I am curious what you have found that the Wilco models in more detail than the NGX? Shane Gavin
June 26, 201213 yr There are plus points to both in these shots, so it's about evens in some ways, but you'll notice more pressure line detail on the undercarriage on the EVO, then again, the windows are better on the PMDG, as I think is the modeling in general, and as noted previously, the textures on the EVO leave a lot to be desired, but to be fair, the EVO model is quite a nice rendition of a Classic, especially compared to what it was like on the original offering. They are of course different 737 variants, so you can't absolutely compare them point for point, since the main gear on the NG is in fact different to that on the Classic. Incidentally, there is also another Classic 737 under development for FSX. There'a a link to a video of it on this site: http://enigmasim.com/boeing_737.html So that will mean we'll end up with three Original variants, two Classics, and three NGs LOL. And that's not even starting on what's coming for X-Plane. Kind of makes you wish someone would do the Dassault Mercure for a change. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 26, 201213 yr I see what you mean. I don't really spend much time at all looking at the models of aircraft, so that's why I missed a detail like that. It's my opinion too that based on the shots, the NGX wing modeling, particularly the flap mechanism housings, look more realistic. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Shane Gavin
June 26, 201213 yr Yup, the wing fairings and flap canoes are much nicer on the PMDG for sure, clearly there are a few more polygons involved, but nicer curves on models often comes down to where the corner points are located, so it's not always a massive difference in polygons, but often as not a case of knowing where to place the joins to best achieve a curve, and some people are better at that than others. Skillful texturing also helps, since you can achieve a lot with simply a 2D effect as well, a good example of that is the SimCheck A300, which pulls off a lot of detail with textures alone. June 26, 201213 yr I personally think the I-Fly VC has the best view perspective. Hello I feel the same way, it just feels right.
