November 5, 201213 yr I have to say that looks pretty good. Perhaps you should share these settings with support. Anything's better than what they've got. I doubt we'll see any change from Carenado at this point and again - I can't say that these settings are in any absolute way "right", all I can say is that they feel right and they work very well for stabilized approaches and landings. I haven't tried full flaps - at the fields I generally fly into I would rarely use full flaps on most Cessnas, but I can say the changes work well with 2 notches. I'm flying stabilized approaches of around 90 Kts, 2 notches of flaps and around 16-17" MP. Power reduced over the fence, round out and flare with touchdown on the mains, holding off the nose with no problems. As molleh's images show, the AOA in the flair looks just as it should. I've always wanted badly for this plane to work well and have flown it a lot despite its flaws as this is right in the sweet spot of what I flew and would fly IRL. These changes have really put a smile on my face. Scott

November 8, 201213 yr Hearing that from you, It must be something. I'll have to pick it up again. Before you do, please note some of the caution flags I'd still raise. I still make a small adjustment to the trim, still have to have a fairly aggressive curve in FSUIPC to tame the elevator for small adjustments and I still can't say if what I now have is actually "real". But it does work. Two other thoughts - First, I haven't yet had a chance to check out changes in short field performance. As these changes both cut lift and add drag to the flaps, there has to be some short field takeoff trade here. I just don't know how much, as I haven't gotten around to looking at takeoff performance. And secondly, note my statement that I've always wanted badly for this plane to work. A turbo-charged piston GA single is what I owned and flew IRL, so I particularly value having one in the sim. In other words, I do have a bias here to like this plane more than others might. Just bein' honest. Scott
January 15, 201313 yr The C210 has been my favorite bird since I picked it up a couple of months ago. I even set aside the PMDG 737NGX for a while, which I'd become addicted to because of the immersive experience. I have a couple hundred RW hours in 172's (including SP) and I have no problem with the FDE of the Carenado 210 in flight or for pattern/landing. I usually have it fairly well loaded and fly final around 80kt, reducing to 75 in the flare for a perfect touchdown everytime, although not much of a flare and it's usually a three-pointer. Flap 30 will induce float if you're above those numbers. Sidebar: best challenge I have found with this aircraft (or any other for that matter) is landing at Courcheval LFLJ. It isn't modelled perfectly by any means in FSX, but try getting down and stopped on that 525m runway 5 (there's a wall at the end!). Fun!
January 30, 201412 yr I have seen videos of 210's landing similarly to what you said and I experienced the same problem you have, it lands fine the way it does once you get some practice with it.
