First Alaska Aerocache

Doesn`t look anywhere near like in real life. Naive ? MS said that Flight would be more detailed than FSX, not me. But Alaska looks similar to FSX in terms of details , obviously they only made Hawaii detailed as teaser. And FSX had the same "details" Alaska has all over the world für 50 bucks?

Maybe there will be a mesh update later. For me it's not so important, because i never have been in Alaska and i couldn't tell if its very close to reality or not. It's a great flightsim, but it has it's flaws of course. For me, this is not at all my number one thing i hope they will update it very soon. There is far more important when it comes to a flightsim than very very detailed mesh in a remote part of the world like the Alaskan wilderness.

Lety me quote HiFlyer from another topic on this forum:

"The thing is...... That on almost whatever forum you go to, for whatever flight sim you will find debate over whether (place name of tiny nuance here) is "realistic" or not. Judging from my observations of those discussions, you will eventually end up with knowledgeable people coming down on both sides of the issue; going back and forth until it begins to approach how many angels can dance on the end of a pin territory........."

And user Newthog in the same topic:

"I agree with you - there are a lot of unrealistic nuances to Flight that could be irritating - however, for me, it's still the best sim/game to give me the "feel" of flying. "

They describe my view very well.

There is some truth to what you are saying, but overall I think Alaska really is much more detailed as a scenery than the FSX version. I kind of suspect though that this initial DLC may have been planned out back when third party participation was still on the table. Now that the Flight team has to try and do it all on their own, I don't think they are there, yet. Its still impressive. I just wonder how such a small team intends to crank this stuff out every four months. Much less any additional scenery to add more details, ala' Orbx.

We are already learning that automation has pitfalls. (Watch out for that tree!!!)

The next scenery should be very interesting, but I kinda hope they pause and spruce up Alaska a bit. It should be a showcase.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

About the yesterday AOTD and the "tour of bugs" it seems we are doing with Alaska's AOTD, has someone seen this ?

It is on the cliffs between the two bigger islands

My screen, finally I got it. I had to reboot also to clear it up. 2 min job took about 15 min. Looks like the bridge to nowhere!

Wow... That anomaly at Elmendorf is pretty impressive.

There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

This reminds me of the TV show ReBoot. What a great show.
