My system specs are in my profile. I get 30 fps because of my limiter in all areas including Orbx PNW, REX Essentials with the J41. I still, mostly, fly in SoCal because I love MegasceneryX which is very light on frames (with all scenery maxed). There are so many other basic variables as well that you have to consider though: scenery shadows, water, airliner traffic, GA traffic, road traffic, weather. I optimize for 30 and avoid anything that would reduce it lower.

wow thats sweet 30 fps. with my 2500k im on about 25-40 fps with pmdg rex utx. btw is there any tweaks you have applied.

many thanks.

btw you mentioned 30fps becasue of your limiter. is this a seperate programe. or is it withtin the game

I get about 30 as well with 2600k overclocked.

Im using internal limiter as I find it gives nice crisp textures, I can't stand the blurries that come when the frame rate gets ahead of the scenery.

Actually except feelThere ERJ and EJets, they only give a constant 18fps even at altitude. It's really strange that one, they don't support Windows 7 is probably why.

Even PMDG stuff is 25-30fps. It bugs me now and then because I really love the ERJ

Is everyone using large amounts of AI at places like Schipol and Heathrow? I have an I7 3930k @ 4.6GHz + GTX580 with an optimized cfg file. With 40% MyTrafficX at the aforementioned airports I'll dip down to 21-23 worst case with the Aerosoft Airbus X loaded. Haven't tried a PMDG addon in those areas.

30 FPS locked. No more, no less.

But not around Heathrow with 40% AI, max settings and a complex aircraft i.e. PMDG NGX I imagine.

No more, no less! No matter were! PMDG, CS. Leonardo MD, ASE, REX, GEX, UT2, UT ALASKA, Various Orbx, carenado, etc etc JFK,LAX, Heathrow, Paduka kentucky. 30FPS!!We, 29.8 or 31.1 once in awhile. :)

Dedicated flight computer. No webbrowser. No Anti virus, no chat program, no teamspeak, Adobe flash, adobe reader, excetra, excetra, excetra.

Default Heathrow perhaps? Sorry but I don't buy it. I've never heard of anyone getting 30fps constant in the situations you have just mentioned.

Edit: My specs are as follows:

Intel I7 3930K @ 4.6 GHz

16GB Ripjawz DDR3-2133

120 GB OCZ SSD

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

EVGA GTX580 w/ 301.44 Forceware

Asus P9X79 Mobo

I too have used Word Not Allowed's setup guide and I promise you that with a detailed aircraft such as the Aerosoft Airbus X, 40% MyTraffic AI with jetways disabled (believe me there are lots of planes in the scene), UK2000 airport scenery and UTX, GEX, REX you name it I will score in the low-mid 20s. That's with autogen and scenery complexity one notch from max and aircraft shadows enabled. Also AA 8x and AF16x.

If you are able to get the fps you say in those situations I would dearly love to know how. I've been messing with it for the better part of a year.

It all depends on settings... I run them high with custom LOD edits which really brings things down around the big payware... I'm sure 30 fps is possible with the right settings.

Yea it is - for example by setting AI to 0 - 5%. I can get 30fps with all that AI in the default microlight but not with a complex airliner. It just seems sad to have to have little to no AI at such a significant and busy airport as Heathrow.

Hmmm… can someone explain why on the such low fps side with a good system

I7 10700K 16GB 3600MHZ RTX3080FE

Because FSX is stupid. Pure and simple. We probably won't be able to run it at 30 with all the bells and whistles of complex addons even in 10 years.

This thread will give you a realistic picture of performance on a modern high-end system with lots of addons and high settings etc. Make sure you read the entire thread.
