July 25, 201213 yr So anyone running Rex utx gex ai1000% uk200 heathrow?… take your time :D I thought UTX/GEX had 0 fps hit? That was their point, just default texture replacements. The graphics card not being the bottleneck means textures don't hurt. It's all the "objects" that bog down the CPU. By objects I mean Scenery placements, Autogen, cars, boats, traffic, complex addon planes internal processing, and bad AI traffic models. I love utx/Gex because there is no hit. Airports on the other hand are another story :)

I love utx/Gex because there is no hit. Airports on the other hand are another story :) UTX is landclass, roads, rivers, traffic and night lighting. Some of these features (traffic and night lighting) have a VERY big effect on fps but the landclass, roads and rivers I think is fairly minimal. GEX is the texture replacement and the developers claim it should actually be smoother than the default textures on the same settings because of it's more efficient handling of autogen. But yea airports like Heathrow and Schipol make a huge dent if you are trying to have everything on at once.
July 25, 201213 yr Ahh yeah I forgot about the traffic increase with all the roads. I have cars down on 5% so it doesn't get noticed too much.

July 25, 201213 yr is there any tweaks you have applied. Tweaking. I started with Word Not Allowed's tweaks, changing each setting and then restarting to see the affect of each (some of them were, to me, amazing). Then I spent hours tuning, changing internal settings, figuring out what I wanted to give up to get thirty. I like cars and other airplanes so I added those. I, toned down some of the REX texture resolutions (didn't really notice any much difference on my system). Also, reduced the water effects...they were annoying me anyway. I was getting 22-30 about then. Finally, once I had everything lined up, I put my external fps limiter back on and got it back up to a rock-solid 30. Pretty amazing in Orbx PNW...I never expected to get 30 there. I'm sure there are folks that would look at my screens and shudder...everybody has different preferences as to what's important to them. You have to make tradeoffs and it's what's important to you that matters. So, eliminate what isn't important to get what's more important. If I liked high water effects then I'd have to reduce traffic or something else. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. July 25, 201213 yr Author Many thanks for the reply btw could you send me a link to the fps limiter external I7 10700K 16GB 3600MHZ RTX3080FE
July 25, 201213 yr Commercial Member 18-30 FPS in complex addon airports with PMDG 737NGX and 40% Mytraffic. Most of my settings are highest or as high as they are needed to be to take max out of mesh and airport addons for example, but no autogen as I fly mostly with jets and rather take extra performance than see poorly generated objects on my approach and initial climbout. But when I fly with smaller planes I put autogen max and have no FPS problems.
July 25, 201213 yr 30 is a good number. I have an AMD/ATI graphics card and find that none of the recent driver "updates" are good for FSX. Many stutters. Going back to drivers released about the middle of December of last year provides smooth, almost never leaving 30, FRs. Sometimes, older is better! John Wingold
July 25, 201213 yr Author could you guys point me out to a external limiter thanks. I7 10700K 16GB 3600MHZ RTX3080FE
July 25, 201213 yr could you guys point me out to a external limiter thanks. Hello What's wrong with the internal limiter, it works fine for me
July 25, 201213 yr What's wrong with the internal limiter, it works fine for me I would say I got another 5fps from using the external limiter. It's probably a little more uneven than the internal one, I think, but I like the overall affect better for me. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane.
