Hi Guys,

Firstly, if Mods see this and know i am doing something wrong, please inform me! (i shouldnt be though!)

 

So, i currently have a Traffic Programme on my FSX, which, [i shoudnt mention the name but] is "Available on a disk with a picture of an American Airlines 777"

 

Now, the problem i am facing (i'll get onto the question shortly, but you need to know the background information!) is that, i have one airport scenery package, Heathrow Xtreme V2 , on Xtreme Level. This, with the day time, with a payware product such as the PMDG 737 NGX, is getting me around 2FPS. If i go to Defualt LAX with a Default 737 Midday, i also, geta round 3FPS (the whole of California is around 3FPS).

I am thinking of uninstalling it, as, i dont need traffic to fly the plane, and half the time i dont see any at FL360 ANYWAY!

In Aid of this, maybe i'll get some airpport packages, to familierize myself to docking systems, taxi systems, SID/STARS etc... like FSdreamTeam JFK (it looks awesome)

 

NOW, with world of AI:

-is this the same? Is traffic density too much, will it get me shabby FPS (ok,ok, i use a Sony Laptop, but, flying round the country, or round the sea, with the Tucano still gets me 80-100FPS)

- Do i have to download Every single Aircraft with every Single Colour Scheme?

-Unlike with the traffic system i have at the moment, can you "Tone-down" the traffic, like, from 100% to, per say 50% (ok the scheds wont be 100% realastic, but, hey ho)

-Where can i get WOAI Planes/Repaints

-- And Finally, are there people Constantly Updating Colour schemes, Aircraft (e.g 787), and Scheds for the Airlines?

 

FURTHERMORE!

What is this, "The Fruit Stand" Are they a seperate AI Company? Do they supply A/C for WOAI?

you really fly with 2-3fps in those situations? :-O and i thought my meager 10fps at big busy airports was bad :(

 

can't help you with all questions but i will try since i am started playing with WOAI traffic myself again

 

with WOAI you can select just those airlines that you want to have individually and download those packages right from the AVSIM library. the WOAI homepage has the

complete list with direct links to get the individual packages.

 

this means you don't have to download single aircraft or repaints, but this also means that you always have to get all aircraft and flightplans of an airline.

you have to use their special installer that will let you install the downloaded packages.

 

you WILL get all the individual aircrafts that the airline uses, this really depends on the airlines you want to see in your sim.

 

since WOAI uses the FSX AI system it will react to the AI airline traffic slider in the options. so you can try playing around

with the amount of AI you want to have around you.

With WOAI there are updates every now and then. Things have been quite lately but they do get updated from time to time.

 

If not mistaken, WOAI flight plans are in FS9 format and if installed, will have you loose your FSX AI flight plans from appearing. What I do is install the airline(s) and then convert to FSX format using another tool (which I can't remember now, as I'm not at home...) This will once again allow all other FSX format AI flight plans to work fine.

 

WOAI AI also follows the the FSX AI airliner traffic slider, as tofupete stated. So you can adjust the traffic as you see fit.

 

The framerate hit is actually minimal (for the most part) and the graphics are actually pretty good. I've got a mixture of WOAI, Orbx and custom AI traffic flying around (Airliner settings to 75%) and the FPS hit is not bad.*

 

 

*I'm currently running a old duo core 6750 with 4Gigs of RAM and an Nvidia 460 GPU. My new upgrade should be literally arriving any second now (UPS shows "out for delivery"!!)

It would be interesting to see your full list of settings for all FSX AI such as cars, boats, etc. I am going to guess that you have some of these set to high and it is killing your FPS rather than the mystery AI program. By the way, I see no reason why you cannot name this program, we all know that its either MyTrafficX or Flight1's Ultimate Traffic.

I am fairly sure that you can reduce amount of traffic in Ultimate Traffic somehow, in Mytraffic it happens using FSX default sliders and with Traffic X probably same way... So are you sure that this program really runs traffic 100% all the time and that you can't change it from anywhere?

I use the full set or WoAI packages and there is NO need to convert flightplans at all, neither as far as I'm aware do they interfere with default FSX traffic files - not that you'll need or want them.
