June 10, 200421 yr Some of the larger corp. jets have doors, some of the smaller Citations have curtains, our Premier1 has doors....as you can see there is great variety:-) The CII's I've seen have a track for curtains but no curtains:-)We elected to leave them out on our CII for that reason:-)Remember, poly count and animations cost frame rates:-)
June 10, 200421 yr Just a brief THANK YOU to all you folks that are working on this project. The carry over from FS2002 that I am useing for my Gulfstream V is still one of my favorites, and I am not even sure where I got everything for it. One of those evolution things over a period of time I guess.Anxiously awaiting the results of your kind and relentless efforts. One more example of the best representation of this hobby. Most grateful and best of luck with your efforts!RTH
June 10, 200421 yr Author Thanks so much for the support RTH,We all have our fingers crossed over here for Rick Sasala to do a few cosmetic updates and then we'll be on the home stretch. If he doesn't help us out it's going to take a little longer to get this update out to you guys because somebody's going to have to learn GMAX. Like I said fingers are crossed. The FDE still needs a little work, I'm giving some of the others a chance to throw in their ideas instead of doing it all myself. With luck and a little extra help we'll have this out to everyone in a couple of weeks (don't hold me to it though)... June 10, 200421 yr Dillon,I have heard GMax is very hard to learn. Rick Salasa said he is doing a new model for FS2004."Unfortunately the tutorial for doing correct lighting wasn't available when I did this model. But it will be incorporated into the new model I'm doing..."Why not just use the new FDE you made from Mike Stone's Gulf V on this FS2002 version for now and wait until Rick is finished with the new model and see what the new model is like? Probably save you a lot of headache unless you just want to learn GMax.Btw, unless I am mistaken, GMax is free and comes on one of the FS2004 CD's. I think there is a newer version of it available, or at least updates for it. However, 3DS Max (3D Studio Max I think) which is what GMax is based off of, is very expensive. You could consider GMax as '3DS Max lite'. Please, someone correct if I'm wrong about any of that. Houdini and Maya are even more expensive!Regards,Jim
June 11, 200421 yr Author Because Rick is only doing a Military version. So if anyone wants the passenger version we'll have to be the one's to do it. I'm also trying to get other updates done to this bird besides just the FDE. I think I've just about nailed that department. There's a few cosmetic issues that need addressing. To all GMAX designers we could really use your help right about now... If no one knows GMAX we could be dead in the water... :-hang FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
June 11, 200421 yr I can get pictures if needed, I walk underneath 2 or 3 C-20G's everyday at work. Only difference exterior changes to exterior IIRC is C-20 has extra escape hatches by the engines and the large cabin cargo door on the starboard side... :-outta http://hometown.aol.com/p3superb/images/3e72a43942b48d2b.jpg There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".- unknown "My daddy gives me up, to fight for you"- a US Military Members Child
June 11, 200421 yr Author Thanks Jeff, if you got some cool repaints for the Gulfstream send them to Tom van der Elst. He's doing repaints for us... :-) Tom's at '[email protected]'Thanks for your support, it's appreciated... June 11, 200421 yr Actually, all of the G-IVs I've been in have a door, but it's aft of the main door, and separates the pax compartment from the crew area. As you enter the acft, the flight deck is open.Is someone doing a panel with the Honeywell SPZ-8400 avionics suite used in the G-IV? All of the panels I've seen so far are just generic EFIS-type displays with a generic MCP, and lack the avionics integration present in the G-IV and G-V.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
June 11, 200421 yr Author Bob why don't you get in contact with Eaglesoft so they can do justice to this bird??? From what it sounds like, you have the access to these birds that developers need to design the bird correctly in Flight Simulator... All we're trying to do here is get a decent flyable Gulfstream until Eaglesoft can get a professional one done. None of us are gauge programmers nor are any of us GMAX designers... That's why I'm petitioning some help from someone who knows GMAX so we can iron out some minor visual issues here and there. Other than that we'll have to settle for just an FDE update and some minor gauge updates I've been able to do myself. It sounds like your the man all of us have been waiting for with the right connections. Contact Eaglesoft so we can get this bird done right once and for all... Ooh Yea, tell them I sent you... :-) FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
