August 5, 201213 yr Hi, I wanna get a new monitor.....what would you suggest. No more the $350. Hows this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001553
August 5, 201213 yr looks good enough. Look for a 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080), low response time to avoid ghosting (2ms is good) and a high black level and you're all good. I love samsungs, but I use 16:10 ratio monitors. Those 120 extra verticle pixels really kill my fps I think, so shoot for 16:9.
August 5, 201213 yr Hello In my opinion 16:10 is much nicer, 16:9 is like looking through a letterbox in comparison I have had a Dell 27" 2707wfp @ 16:10 1900x1200 for a few years now and I am very happy with it. http://www.cnet.com.au/dell-2707wfp-339273260.htm

Can you show me a couple?
August 5, 201213 yr Why buy 1080p for $350 when you can have 1440p and an IPS panel for $50 more? Check out the Auria 276W @ Micro Center.

August 5, 201213 yr So i have decided to go with this :) Will a 27" be big enought for FSX and Games? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001553
August 6, 201213 yr So i have decided to go with this :) Will a 27" be big enought for FSX and Games? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001553 That's a 1080p TN panel. The size is fine, and it looks good on paper but the image quality can't hold a candle to the monitor I mentioned in my last post. I know first hand, having used a 27" Samsung LED LCD with similar specs to the one you've selected and then switching to the monitor I mentioned. It's like night and day.
August 6, 201213 yr How big is the FPS drop when using a very high resolution? I use 1080P on a 24inch display. I am fearful of a huge dip in FPS @ 2560x1600. - Those big displays really make me wanna use my credit card lol
August 6, 201213 yr I am in the same position which Monitor 27" @ 2560 x1440 or 24" @ 1920 x 1200 putting aside performance and price I am leading towards the 27" Comments / observations please Andrew
August 6, 201213 yr I believe Word Not Allowed mentioned something like a 15% drop or so, I haven't tested at 1080p so I can't comment.
August 6, 201213 yr I hear that, especially with TrackIR, a response time of 2ms or less is pretty much a necessity. Will Wilson
August 6, 201213 yr Very pleased with Hanns 28"1920 iX 1280, very good and affordable. Tried bigger, more resolution and more money. Not worth it!

I think I'll stick with 1080P till hardware can close that gap. In an ideal situation, I would upgrade my hardware, get a 2560monitor, and be able to run at my same settings without a drop in FPS. What do people think of these two? http://www.amazon.co...8/ref=de_a_smtd http://www.amazon.co...M/ref=de_a_smtd Will, I prefer the first link. The bezel looks better to me mainly because it is not the ugly and reflective plastic like on the second one.
