August 12, 201213 yr I know that one way, and my wife is going to kill me for it. Couldn't hold out any longer and ordered my copy about 30 minutes ago. She already knows how much money I have put into FSX ( knows as in a very very very lowball figure ) and I know when that bank statement comes out She will be just peachy...ol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira

Officially retired
August 12, 201213 yr You could've tested it out with the demo, too..... but that way has less fun with it ;)
August 12, 201213 yr I got the demo but soon got tired of rushing before 15 minutes was up. Also the demo was the old version, and I know that advancements have been made and it probably is going to look and perform a lot better. Can't wait to get it. I sure wish they had a download option. Waiting in the post is not a fun thing at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
August 12, 201213 yr Author I have had an interest in AI for a long time Oops! that makes two of us... And my "Agent's Society Thesis..." :-) That was long ago - 1989..... But back to x-plane's world, I do think it IS a waste of processing power to use the same FM for the AI aircraft. I do not use AI, but I could try an AI injector just like the one announced recently for x-plane if it wasn't very heavy on the CPU/GPU... August 12, 201213 yr So if I can buy Addon aircraft for the demo, and update the demo to current version, I can also download the freeware addons for it too? Just asking, as I am guessing it will take a week for my copy to get here, and I would like to play around and start getting some stuff for it. William Sequeira

Hi, you can use every aircraft you want with the demo, payware, freeware it doesn't matter. What won't work is addon scenery, because without the DVD 1 in the drive, the only scenery that shows up is the demo area.
August 12, 201213 yr Exactly. That's why I was saying you could test out VATSIM with the demo. The only thing that's locked is the scenery outside the demo area. All the airports are there so if you're checking an area with 20+ airplanes flying around you can still put your plane on that airport and fly around for 15 minutes. It'll just be a floating airport island. When deciding to purchase XPX, I bought a couple addon aircraft first as they were cheaper than XPX itself and gave me an impression of how other planes would feel since the built-ins were a show-stopper for me. It's a pretty nice demo setup all in all.
