Carenado C182T released

Featured Replies

It is going to cost frames and it is up to the user to back off other settings to make it reasonable.

I for one, have a super computer, and don't have this problem with any plane or do-dad add on. I'm just as broke as everyone else, but when it comes time for a new computer, I dump my "girl money" there! LOL. I do feel the pain of those with lesser machines.. I truly do. I was in that boat too, with a machine built for Call Of Duty games. When I started Hard Core FSX'ing, my first "oh hell, my box is too small" moment came with the EagleSoft Citation X. After a couple weeks of that, I went out, held up a 7-11, and got "serious" with a FSX box.

Money well spent.

Welcome to the world of multiple glass displays and FSX. Its a pretty simple concept that seems to elude many... the more you draw, the more it costs.

If you want great glass displays in FSX,

Uh...yes. But my point was that the impact is far bigger than with other glass planes I use. As shown the Carenao 182 T costs 22 Fames to use the map....the phenom 100 costs 3 frames. Difference for the Carenado Malibu (even though smaller displays) between only left display of the g500 and both displays including map + 2 x gps and weather radar...only 3 frames again.

And I also don't remember such a huge impact for using the map when I still used the F1 Mustang.....

I hope this gets better with the usual patch.

I checked it out in more detail last night. On my system I'm seeing between 22 and 30 FPS. Watching the indicator, it *seems* close the same as the J41 but it stutters more and FPS goes lower in the turns...right around 22-23 and stays there. The J41 (my hardest performance hitter before this one) is much smoother. All of my other airplanes have 30fps locked and steady: RealAir Legacy, Dukes, C337, C182Q. It's ok to fly but it does feels quite a bit less real because of the jerkiness.

By the way, flying this new FDE in my old C182Q is pretty amazing. No performance hit and much more real than the default.

Picked the T182T up the other night and have been enjoying it ever since.

Great flight dynaimcs and a beautiful model. The panel is also really nice looking and suits my needs just fine.

The sounds need a little work, especially if you turn the volume up to hear the engine inside and then accidentally switch to outside view. LOL

Money well spent, IMO.

I am looking forward to try this one soon. I love what Carenado does. I just have to wait for my paycheck.
