Foreflight and XPX are an awesome combination

Howdy Folks!

Those of you that have an iPad and can afford to get Foreflight Mobile, don't wait; run and get it. It is simply awesome. As you fly in XPX you can actually see your aircraft fly over high/low IFR charts or over the sectional chart or simply GPS map. It is very good to train on how to stay in and out of control areas and fly safely around those. It is also handy to see charts and get airport data as you fly. Pretty darn cool and the integration came as a new addon on version B9.

Hope this helps.

Wonderful if you have the subscription and you live in the US or Canada but how are us strapped for cash Europeans meant to use it?

Does look like a fantastic app though and I welcome the integration that LR has secured with ForeFlight. I hope to see more of this sort of thing in the future, it is a good move.

I just read xsimreviews, and was pointed in the direction of this site:

Simply put, it's brilliant! VFR charts for the whole planet. All for free.

Not just the VFR charts, it has IFR too...now if only you could put in SMYRA V3 BIPIN for a flight from Deland to Key West and it pull the waypoints on the V3 airway between. Instead you have to add each waypoint manually. But it is what I've been hoping for for a very long time for my X/C flying.

I am not able to do so at the moment but how would you link the two? I was able to get FSX working on ForeFlight and I agree, it is simply unbeatable! There is nothing like being able to fly with my iPad running ForeFlight and FSX - however I have recently started using X-Plane - how do you link them

This is what I use and it works great.  I fly X-Plane in window mode and just Alt/Tab to Skyvector.com to look at charts and plates for any airport in the US.  The sectionals are for the whole world and they are updated and free.
