Constant crashing trying to fly in Hurricane Isaac?

Hey guys,

I'm getting a crash over and over just after AS2012 finishes updating on initial startup while sitting at KMSY trying to fly in the hurricane.

It's definitely something to do with the hurricane I think - I tried other airports away from it and there's no crashing.

Anyone else seeing this?

Hmmm I just loaded up at KMSY with the 738 NGX just fine.

Same here. I hopped onto AS2012 with the NGX at MSY at about 0000z, default scenery .. no problems here. Maybe a temporary little burp in the weather reporting from wherever AS pulls its data?

Wait. You're launching AS after FSX setup?

Tonight I did. I'm using REX-E for wx textures along the route, so I inject those before booting FSX. I then quit REX-E and typically start AS2012, let it do its thing, then start FSX. But tonight I forgot and did FSX setup first, then started AS2012. It makes no difference. AS2012 connects fine with FSX no matter which one you start first.

I flew around in that mess for about 3 hours last night w/o any issues. Had to divert though from KUHM to KMSY. The winds were a little too much for a C441.

I am getting the crashes too, constantly crashes to desktop around the eye of Isaac

EDit, if i disable the hurricane feature the CTD goes away

Ive had the same thing happening at KNEW and KMSY with AS2012 and ASE. Spent a bunch of time, thought it was me! Like I mentioned in anotherpost, I was even getting heavy snow!

Rendi,

Snow in a hurricane is not totally unkown as http://voices.yahoo.com/what-snow-hurricane-will-mean-for-5536453.html testifies. But I guess that AS2012 may have been a little off-course that far south!

Cheers, Richard

Snow in a hurricane is not totally unkown

I suppose that a fact Richard. But when the OAT was 25c it may be difficult. 10000 ft was way warmer also for frozen precip. AS2012 metar report was stating "Heavy Rain" not snow.

Tried it both ways - it'd run fine loading first until I loaded the plane at KMSY, then it'd crash after a minute or two. Same story loading FSX first and AS2012 second.

Ryan, I just saw this cause I just started experiencing this problem again today. With Issac I had no issues or landing at Bermuda about an hour ago with the Storm over head and 50 knot winds on approach. However I am doing a flight from TXKF to LPPD that takes me across the center of the Hurricane or Tropicalstorm whatever it is now. Activesky 2012 was crashing Constantly.

This is not the first time this has happened. I saw issues in Activesky Evolution as well. It seems that Activesky for some people will start to get confused when it comes to hurricanes and either give the wrong info or starts crashing.

I found a solution to the problem but hopefully they will find a way to fix this some day and get more realiable hurricane depiction.

But the solution is if Activesky starts crashing on you. Restart it and let it download the weather and soon as it finishes quicky push the WX Options button and go to the General Options tab and uncheck Depict Hurricanes. This will stop the Crashing.once you clear the hurricane you can check it back again. I know its a lousy Solution to have to disable it but at least it works and you can still have weather instead of none at all.

I miss Jim Skorna if he was still around this post woulda been answered by Hi-Fi the day it was posted. I know they take support tickets now and never seem to read the forums much anymore. At least PMDG is smart enough to have both the Support Tickets and Ryan checking the forums.

I am starting to lose faith in the Hi-Fi team especially with this hurricane issue still unresolved. It's not like its a new problem cause it was around in Evolution as well.

My sentiments also, very disappointed with hifi and their recent silence/stance
