October 7, 201213 yr Author I sent you a pm with some pics in it, Jymp - one of which is of the folder Shaders cache structure which FSX uses. Have a look-see and then post a pic or type in what you see here. Question:- Did you fire up FSX after you installed Steve's Patch? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201213 yr I don't see a PM yet, and yes I did start FSX after putting in the .cfg you sent, made no difference at all
October 7, 201213 yr Author No - the question was "Did you fire up FSX after you installed Steve's Patch? " The fsx.cfg is ok, Jymp - your original is use-able, too - but we're now concerned with two things: 1) Is that patch actually installed? 2).How do we get to see your Inspector settings. For the DX10 cache folder - I suspect you're looking in the wrong place, Jymp. Steve's Patch asks if you would like it to delete the Shaders directory underneath " ...\<your user>AppData\Local\Microsoft\Fsx as you do that install. If it deleted it, it would have been re-created by FSX - as this is the default way it works. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201213 yr Ok, I'm confused, all I know is I Downloaded it, unzipped it to a folder on my desktop, clicked on setup, got a cmd box then it asked if I wanted it to delete the shaders 10, I said yes, ran FSX, now have a mess
October 7, 201213 yr Author Did you open up the PM? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201213 yr Nothing there except the ones you sent earlier, it turns red when you get a new PM right ?, mine is still grey
October 7, 201213 yr Author Aaah OK.. If one posts back too quickly it just edits the previous post. Take another look, Jymp - it may help getting some pics posted. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201213 yr Author OK - here's the PM:- Well, one place is www.DropBox.com, Jymp, which is a free service. You have a folder on your desktop, which contains two folders - one for Photos, and one for Files. You take a screen shot of Inspector, (Alt-PrtScreen) and then paste it into "Paint" or some such graphics editor, such as PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro, then save it into the Photo's folder. It will then appear on the main DropBox website. You Rt-clk on the picture, select "Share link", and then paste that link into the forum editor. This is what it looks like:- https://www.dropbox....ybto/W2BdaEp2IS and here's a link to DropBox http://db.tt/jSsOQFE0 i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201213 yr Could we please do this on Teamspeak ?, I dont know anything about how to do this Dropbox stuff
October 7, 201213 yr Author Yup - no problem - I haven't used it in a while, but your talking about the one at avsim.digitalthemepark.com, right? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 8, 201213 yr Hey Paul and Jim, When you log into Avsim do does it load in slow for you? It sometimes seems to take a way longer time now than before? I just had a faster connection installed and this is the only site that loads in slow. I made a post the yesterday and when I ticked the "post" it said saving post and the notice never went off. Let me know... It is working better now as I type but still slow.. Les lh
October 8, 201213 yr Yes, there is a little glitch everyone experiences with busy sites like AVSIM. I have a fast connection too but do not see surfing the site slower. The system has problems saving posts occasionally and it is not the fault of your fast connection. My understanding is that if there's a lot of activity, the server takes a longer time saving your post then posting it. I have found a way to get around that - I save my post by highlighting the whole post and clicking on Save. I then back out of the post, then click the forward button to get me back to the post. I then paste my comments into the post (you might have to hit return and paste it one line down for the 'paste' to show up). I then hit post and it instataneously completes the response. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for a long period of time before your post is saved and that's no fun. Best regards, Jim PS - I just had to do the actions I described above to get this response back to you! Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
