September 18, 201213 yr Author Paul, I am getting a bit confused as to which is the latest version of your DX10 document, just wonder if you can post a link, thanks.Mark. This is the one, Mark: I should be more careful.. :sorry: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/52676345/DX10_Fix/Notes/DX10%20Notes.doc or pdf:- https://dl.dropbox.c.../DX10 Notes.pdf Just a few minor changes.. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 18, 201213 yr Hi Paul, I've given up on importing profiles into Inspector. I just can't find a folder with .nip files, except any I've saved myself. Not to worry though. I'm using your Inspector settings, plus your FSX settings (with a few adjustment of the sliders for my own preferences. I've flown my Real Air Lancair Legacy at the three most demanding places I've been to, namely Seattle, Melbourne, and London. At all three flying was completely smooth, around 19fps, rising to 29-30 as I left the metroplitan areas. Tonight, I went back home to Scotland, for a flight from Glasgow out around the islands off the West coast. I was delighted with the sharpness of the scenery, but amazed to see the reflection of clouds on the water. I didn't think that was possible in FSX. All this with an i7-2600, and a GTX570. I'm really chuffed! Thanks to Steve and Paul! September 18, 201213 yr Author Here's mine, Jim, with all the testing profiles saved.. (exported ("Export current profile only) using the little green arrow at the top of the configuration screen. September 19, 201213 yr Doing well, had a chance over the last few days to do some flying and really enjoying my rebuilt sim under DX10 !! Looking forward to adding the PMDG777 and the FSLabs A320 to the collection when they finally are released....but that is another debate that I don't want to start here. Mark CYYZ
September 20, 201213 yr Author Great News, Mark! I was hoping against hope for your success! September 20, 201213 yr Well, I'm still running DX10 with great success and am even getting decent FPS with the PMDG MD-11 and the Lancair Lagacy in Orbx PNW. I've given up on getting anti-aliasing to work as I suspect its too much for my system which, if I'm honest, is marginal for running FSX anyway. Really have to get a new machine soon.... September 24, 201213 yr Hello all, stevejp has mentioned that the anti-aliasing box might untick itself when fsx is restarted, but I haven't seen any further post or comment about it. The problem is that everytime I restart fsx, AA is off and filtering is back to "Bilinear". Do you guys have any hint on that? Thank you! Caio Belmock Mascarenhas de Campos
September 24, 201213 yr Author No, sorry. Normally, from a full-screen window, a controlled shutdown of FSX is done by hitting the "Esc" key, which will close the flight window, and opening up the "Free Flight"-spinning aircraft view - then one would click on the "X" in the upper-right corner, to close FSX, answering "Yes" to the "Are you sure you want to exit Flight Simulator?". When you hit the "Yes" - FSX will update all of the files which have been changed during the session, so if, say you changed the Autogen from Normal to Dense while you were flying - that change would be written to disk, in the FSX.cfg file. Go to the fsx.cfg and rt-clk on it, choose "Properties" and see if the file is marked as "Read-only". It should not be. Open up the FSX.cfg with Notepad, browse down to find the - [Display.Device.whatever GPU you have] This is what should be under that section header, (and there may be more than one entry) Anisotropic=1 AntiAlias=1 Check if your UAC is turned Off. It should be OFF. Hope this helps, pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 24, 201213 yr I got tired of not getting AA to work so I re-installed FSX (this is getting to be a habit) and I now have AA working, at least with FSX's internal AA on. I haven't tried using the AA settings in nVidia Inspector yet but I did see a noticeable difference. Have a look at the before and after: Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
September 24, 201213 yr Author Beautiful! They both need to be on and working. Either 8xSGSS or 4SGSS will do it. I also use the "MultiSamplesPerPixel=8 " line in [Graphics], but I think that may only work with AMD cards. Not sure. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Going to try than ENB tweak and see how that works out. Edit... ENB doesn't work with DX10, never mind Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)

Did you manage to get rid of that "rain tunnel" in DX10? I know there a topic about it (http://forum.avsim.n...-dx10-rain-void), but I couldn't understand where those tweaks go and which are the correct parameters. Regards, Caio Belmock Mascarenhas de Campos
September 25, 201213 yr Author Hi Caio; The "Rain Fix" is not incorporated into the latest pinned "How-To" document. There's a link to the Rain40.fx file included, and instructions on how to install it.
