If you have an opinion, great. But don't vent it in the "FSD Aerostar Released" thread. It's sort of tacky. June 26, 200421 yr >There are tons of twin props around to mess with and I would>HIGHLY (not stressed enough) recommend the Aeroworx Beech>instead!Have you tried to hand fly the Aeroworx Beech on approach. The flight model needs some work. Also Realistic Start up procedures are not working correctly. And another problem is with torque and rpms settings at low speed idle and autofeathering. Also forget about it tracking the ILS. Its great eyecandy at this point but Its not really in the same league as the FSD stuff is because of the above issues.RegardsDennis Waggoner
June 26, 200421 yr I can't wait for the Howard, it looks absolutely incredible! The new Russian one looks to be another fantastic addon for us to salivate over... Woo Hoo! I bought the King Air 200 and love it, best twin engine on the market right now!
June 26, 200421 yr I would guess, based on your comments, that you need to brush up on flying your planes yourself instead of letting your computer do it. :-lol . The b200 flys like a dream! (hand flying). You are correct though, forget about "tracking" the ILS. Fly it yourself! Also, there are certain things that FS is just not going to allow designers to get perfect. Nature of the beast. No, I'm not connected to Aeroworx, just a very, VERY satisified customer. Now off to get me that Piper. I'm such a plane junky!Dave
June 26, 200421 yr what can be more expensive than london? The hotels there are outrageous, the hot dogs aren't hot dogs, the girls look like they've been under a hot lamp, if they got that far, and they speak a different language, eh? So there.....rgds,billg
June 26, 200421 yr Ontario, Canada, is a pretty big place. Where about's Jason? Not Toronto, omg, I hope not. But up to you....rgds,billg
June 26, 200421 yr Oops,Yeah not toronto, probably 30 to 40 minutes east of toronto, we are looking in Whitby, Oshawa or out as far as Port Hope. http://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssigsmall.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying. June 26, 200421 yr >There are tons of twin props around to mess with and I would>HIGHLY (not stressed enough) recommend the Aeroworx Beech>instead!>Why? And do you also mean that you recoomend Aeroworx Beech instead of any other twin, not just the new FSD?
June 26, 200421 yr It was a HARMLESS suggestion in my eyes anyway based on this: "Well, my father's day gift this year (at my request...lol) was the FS addon of my choice. I had pretty much whittled it down to eeny-meeny between the Carenado V35, and the new USA Roads. Well, needless to say, this Aerostar popping up like this has thrown a huge monkey wrench into the whole decision making process."That's all.Carmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
June 26, 200421 yr DaveI apologise about my comments. I went back and flew the Plane with the FD that came with it and not the one that was posted on the Aeroworx website to solve the high idle rpms and I found the flight characteristice to be very good. My apologies to Aeroworx for making this comment and appearing to detract from their work. However to each his one. FSD has produced a very fine rendition of the Aerostar. They had a actual real life owner of one working with them in the beta phase. And let me tell you he was very hard on them. From Cabin pressurization to Fuel Management he ding on the current state of the beta and did not let up. There were a couple of time when I believe FSD was ready to release the Aerostar or close only to be met with another batch of small issues that needed to be fixed. Not to mention how hard all of the other beta testers worked on the plane (myself not included)I dont believe there is any GA plane out there right now that has the accuracy or effort put into it as much as the Aerostar has.RegardsDennis Waggoner
June 26, 200421 yr Hm, I just bought the FSD Navajo some time ago. Wonderful plane :) But could anybody tell me why I should purchase the Aerostar as well? Any big differences? FSD seems to be specializing in twin props at the moment. Looking forward to serious input!VOlker :]
June 27, 200421 yr Well, I would say the difference is the same as the difference between a Buik and a Corvette. The Aerostar is fast and sexy. The Navajo, which I also love, is more like a four door sedan that rides really well. IMHO Go FSD!!!!:>
June 27, 200421 yr Author Another great twin by FSD! This plane is really fun to fly. I just took it up or a quick circle around the field. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
