Casual Gameing

Featured Replies

Not being one for Angry Birds, I have been seeking a nice casual time waster for my IOS (Phone or Tablet) devices with limited success. There are a lot of games, but nothing seemed to catch my eye and the one thing that did, Plague Incorporated, was not really my cup of tea. Now, in one day I have found two little gems and my search is over.

Just in case somebody else is looking for some quick fun, I am passing on the names! ^_^

This could be a long, fun thread!

real racing 2 is a great driving game, races not too long. Doom is.....doom! Brought back so many memories.

And check out Air Supremacy. Amazing graphics

Doom is a bit sparse for me, but Real racing 2 looks great, and Air Supremacy looks even better. It seems that Xplane for phones/tablets has more and more intense competition. They had better modify the game for the retina display and take more advantage of the power of the newer tablets/phone though. The competitors are racing by, and Xplane is really starting to look dated.........

I am also looking into getting the 1080p adapter. The games are getting so high fidelity that they are doubling as portable consoles, and connecting one of these to a TV is becoming more and more attractive.

The huge burst of innovation/creativity as small developers find they can compete with the big boys (and beat them!) in this arena is amazing, and things only seem to be accelerating.

Finally for those not into fast action, a nice relaxing strategy game like World Of Goo might be a great option

Well, I just purchased air supremacy, and as you said, the graphics are amazing. I remember when phones barely did tic tac toe so it's doubly amazing. Controls are kinda twitchy though. I am working on getting the right "feel" so I can really dig into it.

You might want to take a look at Dead trigger. It's free right now, the graphics are great and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.

Cool Devon, I'll check that out. AWACS, I understand, but an iPad has so many flightsim and RL applications. Yes their phones are too boring now- woohoo, a Sammy Galaxy S 3 LTE ON ORDER! that's a REAL screen!

They are getting to be almost a necessity. Even friends that poo-poohed Ipads (or tablets in general) become glued to them once they somehow got one of their own.

And while I am glued to my IPhone/Ipad combo, those huge screens on the Android phones are tempting......

Even though monster zillion selling hits like Infinity Blade are IOS only, there are clones of those games, like Blood and Glory for Android systems. The graphics are not quite as good, but it is very very close, and the game-play is essentially identical..

Buy......... This......... Game!!!!!!

Keep your tongue firmly in cheek with this music/rhythm/action combo for Apple & Android; a game only the Japanese could come up with. I love it! (and the unmistakable Square/Enix music)
