September 21, 201213 yr 5:00 AM show for a 6 o'clock go in SFO this morning. Took the 4:40 shuttle from the short layover, and after 4 stops, got through security at 5:10. Straight to the jet which sat all night. Parking brake pressure sat around 2,000 PSI, in the orange band. 3 of the 4 main tires with low pressure. A chip in a fan blade in the left engine. Cracked taxi light. 2 of the 3 exterior emergency exit placards under the FO window deteriorated. EDIT: Edited to leave excerpt from artile, which Chris provides a link to below. September 21, 201213 yr Here is the source: http://forums.jetcar...361/#navigation My point was that doing a complete "scalp" of content, as the other forum admin calls it, is against our policies here. He may be okay with it, but we're not.
September 22, 201213 yr Never understood all that dead-heading and bouncing around the place that takes place with American carriers myself, seems a bit mad to me. Interesting read anyway, bad day at the office... Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
September 22, 201213 yr It is amazing to me the 'stories' the passengers make up when a flight is delayed or cancelled. Last time I was delayed and put onto another flight one of the other passengers at the gate waiting with us was saying 'it is because the pilots were too hung-over to fly' which was a bunch of crap. I just keep my mouth shut and take my travel vouchers as I know that the airline staff can't help these things from happening, but work their best in bad situations at times. Not there fault. September 23, 201213 yr Author Yeah talking to a few people at American, it sounds if people all around are not trying hard to keep the airline running. Even the Wall Street Journal advised against flying with American until things get sorted out. Chris Miller
September 23, 201213 yr The only thing missing from the report is a passed out person in the stall surrounded by empty tiny booze bottles.
September 23, 201213 yr Yeah talking to a few people at American, it sounds if people all around are not trying hard to keep the airline running. Even the Wall Street Journal advised against flying with American until things get sorted out. Sounds like a 'corporate culture' issue they are having at the moment. Takes a good leadership to sail that ship in the correct direction. I know a lot of those folks at American have dedicated their lives to the company so it would be a shame to see the company hurting like that at the moment. September 23, 201213 yr Moderator When employees give and give, while the empty suits get bigger and bigger bonuses, their is going to be a breaking point. Yep, I agree. I dont mind the big wigs getting big bonuses when a company is doing well and the workers down stream from the executives are getting compensated appropriately. I do have a problem with the big wigs getting big bonuses when a company is failing, people are getting laid off and/or their salaries are getting cut, and the big wigs are trying to do a lot of "cost cutting". How about starting at the top with their huge saleries and bonuses. Heck, a lot of times their bonuses, even when a company is failing are still bigger than a lot of people make in their life time and that seems really wrong.
