October 2, 201213 yr Author Not an expert but sounds like your 'scene' is trying to catch up and render when you move up/down rapidly and a memory rendering issue. A setting in your display driver or an FSX.cfg setting/tweak or the location and aircraft you are flying would cause this. Return your display driver settings to the FSX default and see if it continues or save your FSX.cfg to fsx.orig and run with fsx default settings and see if the problem still exists (here is where I really think the problem is located; I'm not a fan of tweaks). If it didn't fix the issue, then you can rename the saved .orig back to fsx.cfg. I just tried to duplicate your issue (if it's an issue) and could not duplicate. Best regards, Jim Hi Jim, Last night I failed to mention this onley happens when I fly the New Waco while in the cockpit. Not any other default plane. Oh, by the way Avsim was down this AM? What happened? I tried earlier and the site wasn't up. Les lh

October 2, 201213 yr :LMAO: That was good Paul. I had trouble getting on the site too. It's raining in Virginia so I suspect that was the problem. :t0117: I failed to mention this onley happens when I fly the New Waco while in the cockpit. Well, that's an indicator! No wonder I could not duplicate. Perhaps Paul has seen this effect too or another owner of the Waco. You might want to visit the forum of the developer to see if anyone else has this issue. October 3, 201213 yr Author Hi everyone! I downloaded the new shader 3.1 tweak from Steve P and it works perfect with all the planes including the Waco. It even has great shadeing in the cockpit and it great. So now Jim you will see the shadows in the next recording. Les lh
October 8, 201213 yr Author Hi Everyone! I uploaded another DX10 Video of Southern California day flight and an evening flight. Your in the cockpit of the Waco and flying North during the day time. The second half you will be leaving LAX on the same flight path during the evening with all the LA night lights lit up and there a lot of them. Just before I land I put the Waco on her back for a bit and I then land. This is about a 28 minute flight including the day and evening flight. I hope you simmers enjoy it as much as I did making it. Take a look and let me know what ya think. Les http://forum.avsim.n...eal-california/ lh
October 8, 201213 yr Hi Les, Posted the following in the video forum: "I watched it Les. It was great! Thought you were going to have some mountain issues flying over the Hollywood sign the first time though! See you like Bob Hope's airport. Good landings there and the night lighting was terrific (some in the forum say it's not working for them). It looked like you had UTX night lighting enabled (which is a fps killer for many). The little flying upside down was great too. I had turned my head for a second and the next thing I saw was sky and clouds and thought something had gone wrong with your video. I still did not see any DX10 shadows on this aircraft, inside or outside (there should be some on the wings too). Very realistic flight though! Keep up with the great videos!" Best regards, Jim Hi Jim, First of all thanks for the kind words on the video. For some reason my videos are darker than what they should be and leaving the shadows to dark. I noticed that when I did the day flight. I am going to have to figure that out. Maybe Steve Parsons would look at it and let me know what is going on. Correct me if I am wrong. When using Fraps you are recording off the screen, so if the screen is dark the recording will be dark; correct? That could be my main problem? Now for the night lighting I do use "Ultimate Terrain X" by Flight 1. That is a frame rate killer for sure, but this is what I do. When I did the evening flight I first went into the scenery library and un-clicked everything that pertained to "UT" except for lights. This give me some breathig room, even with my rig it can bring it to it's knees. In Ultrimate Terrain X you can turn the lighting from low to high intenisty; I had them to the limit and they were really to bright. There are a lot of work arounds that no one ever tell or forget to tell. I have even read that if you are not going to use a particular scenery, say you are going to fly in Hawaii for instance, you should shut all your addon scenerys off other than the one you are going to use. Then they won't load when you don't need them. This would help out the system. I have flown over the Hollywood hills so many times looking for the Hollywood sign I could fly it in my sleep. If you had noticed I was in a Slight climb just before the hills. That Airport I landed at was Bob Hope. No wonder when I landed I thought I heard someone telling jokes when I touched down... :LMAO: :LMAO: Les lh

Hi Les, One of the things you can do with UTX on the fly is disable the night lighting in the FSX Scenery Library. It will do this on the fly without having to restart, etc. Whenever you enable anything in the UTX utility, it will add it to your Scenery.cfg and thus the Scenery Library. I have a feeling FRAPS shutdown the shadows as you suggest. Still the video looked great and seemed fluid even though you were in some highly dense areas that should bring most computers to their knees. October 12, 201213 yr Sooo.... I have purchased Fraps... It's great.... when recording 1280 x 1024... but when capturing 3840 x 1024... it crawls along at ~20 frames. Soo.... I pulled one monitor off the TH2Go and tried to setup Nvidia Surround... needs three monitors... :( tried to set up DualH2Go with the existing Matrox software... only accepts a single-monitor resolution range, or a three-monitor resolution range. FSx doesn't want to run on one monitor per (580) port (extended desktop) :( Does this mean I need a single "wide-screen" monitor, - like 24" - 27" - something on this jpeg? :( Cheeesh. this is going to cost the earth - I can see it coming... :( he-e-e-e-e-e-l-p-! All your fault, Les... Hi Paul, How much video memory do you have on your card? Also what is your maximum resolution you can set in FSX before TH2GO? I asume you are running three 19" monitors in the beginning with the TH2GO? When your video fps drop you are demanding to much from your video card and your video card can not keep up with the demand. That is why when I built my system I went with two 580's with 3Gig each card. That is why I can run dense scenery as seen in the videos. The issue is not with your monitors it is in your video card. I not only installed the two cards@ 550 each, I had to install a 1200W power supple to give the power for the cards and not run minimum power for the system. Now, JimH runs his system one one video card and has no problems, I think from what he has said. At this point I still am waiting for the TH2GO Digital SE. When I get the email I will be ordering it. Inclosing Paul when you up the resoluion you are putting more strain on your video card. The video comes from the card and into the TH2GO and out to your monitors and if the card has a problem running 3800 it will struggle as you have see. Before all this started I had set my video and run it @ 5800 at no problem. But I didn't get the results that I wanted like TH2GO can give you. Les lh
October 13, 201213 yr Les - sorry I sounded like a noob! Most of the post was (supposedly humorous) self-commiseration, and I'm fully aware of the electronics of how the gpu and the monitor system works, but if the software doesn't support it - then it's a new 2560 x 1600 monitor - a totally different path. Now - as of an hour or more ago, I found the right answer - TH2Go does support TWO monitors!!! I've just had it running and have now made two movies - not edited, of course - only so many hours in the day! - But "Thank You" for your response! Yes - It manages three monitors quite well in DX10 - enormous load, compared to DX9 - but once Fraps gets it's claws in - she's down to 20 - 23/4 or so. Anyway! Problem solved! - 29 - 30 once again - even with Fraps, at 2560 x 1024. That will work for a YouTube (or wherever) video, and that's all that matters, my friend! peej i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
