October 13, 201213 yr Author Les - sorry I sounded like a noob! Most of the post was (supposedly humorous) self-commiseration, and I'm fully aware of the electronics of how the gpu and the monitor system works, but if the software doesn't support it - then it's a new 2560 x 1600 monitor - a totally different path. Now - as of an hour or more ago, I found the right answer - TH2Go does support TWO monitors!!! I've just had it running and have now made two movies - not edited, of course - only so many hours in the day! - But "Thank You" for your response! Yes - It manages three monitors quite well in DX10 - enormous load, compared to DX9 - but once Fraps gets it's claws in - she's down to 20 - 23/4 or so. Anyway! Problem solved! - 29 - 30 once again - even with Fraps, at 2560 x 1024. That will work for a YouTube (or wherever) video, and that's all that matters, my friend! peej Happy :yahoo: to hear you found the sollution. When did you get the TH2GO? I was having a few issues with my display and couldn't figure it out. This evening I opened the Nvidea control panel up and found that my SLI was disabled. Turned it back on and back in business again. As far as Youtube from what I understand is if you run capture the video in 25fps it will be fine. Let us know when you have one up and running on Youtube, it will be a good one I know! Take Care :hi: Les lh
October 13, 201213 yr Author Paul, Have a question. When you made your video using Fraps did the video record in a wide screen that TH2GO displays? I am in hopes it will. Les  :hi: lh
October 13, 201213 yr When did you get the TH2GO?Good Morning! I've had it for years... probably four, I would think, Les - it's the digital version , so not long after it came out... I had been using a $900 Gateway 21" (piece of junk) with 4 USB ports, DVI and so on, on it - but it blinked out too many times, so it went to the dump.I was having a few issues with my display and couldn't figure it out. This evening I opened the Nvidea control panel up and found that my SLI was disabled. Turned it back on and back in business again. Good. Glad you have it conquered! As far as Youtube from what I understand is if you run capture the video in 25fps it will be fine. Let us know when you have one up and running on Youtube, it will be a good one I know! Les Hah! -maybe.. ( :nea: ) I have you to thank, as it's your videos and your enthusiasm that has pushed me to do this, Les - Alain, JimH, Jim44 and Brett, too! I do need to be able to make at least one! (This is beginning to feel like a movie club..) I know what I want to achieve in a video, Les, but have a number of irons in the fire, as there seem to be so many more "jobs" that must be done in order to produce a decent video. You seem to have conquered this so easily, and me trying to get to where you obviously are - is no small task. I am extremely envious. 1). Screen size and resolution. It has been a chore to get TH2Go from 3 monitors @ 3840 x 1024 down to 2 monitors @ 2560 x 1024. This was the biggest hurdle, but is now done, though I'm only assuming a video can be made published at this resolution - OR - I believe that it can be converted to 1080p? Is that right? 2). Having moved all controls to FSUIPC, and not using EZCA for six weeks or more - I'm having a hard time trying to get FSUIPC - to - EZCA key mapping to be accurate and consistent across several aircraft - including the use of Orbx's "Bob" aircraft. (It somehow loses it's control configuration) (what a pain). 3). Using the1280 x 1024 single monitor - I get the occasional DX10 blue flashing on the ground textures... this has to be remedied. 4). Settling on a "story-line".. For me it is a "must have", and means "which airport? Which aircraft? What time of day? Flying plan - what are we doing?" 5). I don't have an editor at this moment: I've tried "MovieMaker" - but it's not very intuitive, and I can't get into a $99 purchase on top of a $38 purchase (Fraps) (to late in life to go through a divorce) - so this is the time-taker at the moment. Recommendations, $45 max? 6). Plus - experimenting with water color, or other DX10 issue eating into the whatever time is left! So - there you have it, my friend! I don't usually have any problems ("issues": "challenges") with pc management, and mostly spend my time here helping folks, writing "how-To's" and such, but here, in this "video thing" - I'm finding it a tough slog, so I have to say "thank you" for your help, suggestions and encouragement. (This is beginning to feel like a movie club..) Paul; Video Club could be another Thread like "DX10 VIDEO CLUB" ? I know what I want to achieve in a video, Les, but have a number of irons in the fire, as there seem to be so many more "jobs" that must be done in order to produce a decent video. You seem to have conquered this so easily, and me trying to get to where you obviously are - is no small task. I am extremely envious. It takes a lot of thought but you will make it and when you do you will be editing a lot of videos and uploading them. A lot of thoughts come to me in my sleep. Strange life I have!! Is that right? yes it can be saved as 1080p; but it would be great to have it in the same format as the TH2GO size if that can be done wide screen I mean. I have tried this thing and I try not have to deal with it myself. 3). Using the1280 x 1024 single monitor - I get the occasional DX10 blue flashing on the ground textures... this has to be remedied. Same here.. 4). Settling on a "story-line".. For me it is a "must have", and means "which airport? Which aircraft? What time of day? Flying plan - what are we doing?" do a slow flying one if would like. That's why I fly the Waco, open cockpit. This is the my choice for video's for now anyway. 5). You might check on EBAY there might be something there that you can get? 6). Plus - experimenting with water color, or other DX10 issue eating into the whatever time is left! I found last night my video cards were not running in SLI. I changed that back to SLI ENABLED through my Nvidea Control panel and now I have much faster video meaning stable video still running 30fps. But I now can see the coral in the water. You are right Paul the water colors are not perfect. So - there you have it, my friend! I don't usually have any problems ("issues": "challenges") with pc management, and mostly spend my time here helping folks, writing "how-To's" and such, but here, in this "video thing" - I'm finding it a tough slog, so I have to say "thank you" for your help, suggestions and encouragement. by Magix All the Best, pj :( Hi old timer, :hi: Now you are becoming a Producer and a Director all in one and get paid zero :drinks: Yes when you convert or save the video you can save it as a 1080p format that is called exporting the video, you should always export it as .wvp Windows video file; that way it will be a much smaller file. By any means don't upload it as a .AVI file because Youtube will say it is to large. I have two video editing programs. One is Power Director Ultra Pro 10 by CyberLink which is a good program which is an excellent program but has a high learning curve. The second program that i use is Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus by Magix which has a learning curve but much easier for me. These prograams don't really come with much written documentation except on a help file. The way I do it is I hack my way through doing the editing. I do this on a test video not one that I want to keep. The videos that I have on the Avsim site was edited through Movie Edit Pro by Magix. Don't get frustraighted Paul you will make it; if I can do it beleive anyone can master it, Everything cost money and I can say I have a very understanding wife of 37 years; but there is a limit . :clapping: This little guy is me when I tell the wife I want to buy something. I run a compatability test on my system tha AM and it passed so I'll be waiting for the release of the digital SE. Les lh
October 14, 201213 yr Thanks for the encouragement, Les. I am now the proud owner of Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus - which is what (I think) you have, so I'm looking forward to following in your footsteps, old fella! Of course - now we have to sucker that FireHawk to post some of his movies........ it can be saved as 1080p; but it would be great to have it in the same format as the TH2GO size if that can be done wide screen I mean. Agreed, but I guess we have to consider the lowest common denominator for the viewing audience. 3840 x 1024 is no problemo for guys like Jim, with money coming out of his Ying-Yang, but I suspect the average FSX'er has only a 19" - 27" single 1920 x 1200 single-screen jobby. The TH2G Digital works just great, now that I've found it's ability to do the "DualHead2Go" thing as well! I wanted to use the Nvidia Surround, but it will only work with three monitors. October 15, 201213 yr Les - you're asking questions that are outside the span of my personal on-board memory... Yes - Fraps was able to make a video at that res, but as to the "zoom", "space bar", "+", "-"................. :unknw: We also had company for most of the day yesterday, and so got nothing done. :Phbbbt: i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 16, 201213 yr Author Good morning Paul, I had a chance to talk to a tech person at Matrox on the phone yesterday about the TH2GO Digital system. My direct question was: " will the TH2GO Digital software reconize my two (2) cards running in SLI when running the setup of the TH2GO digital software." His answeare was " it should be, or if not then connect it to your best card " what ever that means, they both are good cards". Should be, could be, or maybe is not any of the answears I wanted to hear. So it looks like I will be staying with what I have until I get a answear that is rock solid. To much money invested in the two cards to have one be obsolete. Les lh
October 16, 201213 yr Honestly - I prefer your setup, Les. Fraps takes a shot, then FSX, then Fraps, then FSX, and so on - that's how I see it happening, so my single 580 is trying to run 7680 x 2048 in full screen: with two monitors - that still means 2560 x 2048 - stutters, jumps, etc., so today I will try the single monitor. For your question - one can setup one, two or three monitors out to 5700-something from a single 580, it's a great system - but video'ing a flight? no. I don't know why he said "It should be" - but I still think their service sucks, bigtime. They don't want to talk to you: they have no forum as we know it: and their instructions assume you know everything about the software, all of its functionality, etc., when none of it is intuitive. I'm resigning myself to another $200-plus for a single 24"+ monitor. Just for one movie. :( I only wish I had your rig. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 16, 201213 yr Author Hi Paul, This is why I ask so many questions because everyone has something to sell. They don't give systems away at least I haven't found any freebees on systems. I wish I had all the money that I had shelled out in the past 30 years for computer items that didn't work, live and learn. Thanks for envying my rig. It is nice and dose what I want it to. I will say this Paul if it wasn't for the hard work from every one at Avsim in makeing DX10 what it is today, I would not have the output of my system to what it can do today. So I owe everything to all the programmers and tech people and you included for helping me get out of my system what I should be getting. THANK YOU ALL!!!! :yahoo: YOU ARE AMONG THE GREAT PEOPLE AT AVSIM :hi: AND I TIP MY HAT TO YOU ALL!!! Les lh

October 17, 201213 yr Les - seriously - Jim and I do this because we get a kick out of helping guys who show the enthusiasm and enjoyment like you - and the rest of the guys who share this small forum do, and because we share the common foresight and imagination to have recognized the significance of Steve's analysis. Fueled by Steve's genius - we are taking FSX to a new level of experience - one that is not driven by, and whose life is not dependent on the corporate bottom line. The walls of DX10 are coming down, piece by piece, and with developers taking notice that there is a vibrant and growing group of flight-simmers who use DX10 as their defacto sim - it can only get better. Thank you for the kind words, Les - but we have to turn them "right back at ya", as you and your input is every bit as needed, and as important as anything which Jim or I are doing. October 18, 201213 yr Author Hi everyone, I am working on a new video and this one I have turned on the frame rate counter so you can actually see the frame rates that I was getting in the fraps recording. It is a short video flying from LAX and around LA during the day and fair weather. Below is a copy the graphics part of my FSX.CFG file. Some wanted to know what my settings were and here they are. [GRAPHICS] MultiSamplesPerPixel=8 Stale_Buffer_Threshold=35 HighMemFix=1 SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693500672 SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED=1693500672 D3D10=1 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 NUM_LIGHTS=8 AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=1 AIRCRAFT_REFLECTIONS=1 COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1 LANDING_LIGHTS=1 AC_SELF_SHADOW=1 EFFECTS_QUALITY=1 GROUND_SHADOWS=1 TEXTURE_QUALITY=3 IMAGE_QUALITY=0 See_Self=1 Text_Scroll=1 [bufferPools] BufferPools=1 PoolSize=16777216 RejectThreshold=1048576 You will notice that I have changed the buffer pool quite a bit. Before I changed the buffer pool I was getting redrawing of the water and It was hard to see the coral in the water. Now you can see the light area in the water showing the coral as I fly on final into LAX. All of the settings below will reflect to what have in the .cfg file. This is the settings I have in FSX.
