WOW! Pretty high, Les!

One thing, though - is this below an exact "picture" - as taken/copied from your fsx.cfg:

[bufferPools]

BufferPools=1 PoolSize=16777216

RejectThreshold=1048576

?

Yes this an exact copy of the bufferpool straight from my fsx.cfg file and then copied into this post. Before I changed or started to play with the bufferpool, the water wasn't drawing in as it should, I was getting polygon blocks with the high settings that I have set in fsx. So, I doubled the bufferpool and tried flying the same route. At my surprise the water polygons were gone and the water was what it should be plus it either showed the coral or the shalows on the shoreline as I am turning on final. It seems the more I shove at this machine it just keeps on taking it. I have give a lot of thought on frame rates and I have watched the frame rates and correct me if I am wrong? The frame rates show how much stress is on the CPU of the processor and the graphics card processor GPU? The one issue I have but not as much and that is shimmering on the some, but not all buildings. It dosen't make sense that some would be affected but others would not. Maybe this could be addressed in a new tweak? :dance:

The BP entry is wrong, Les:

It should be:-

[bufferPools]

BufferPools=1

PoolSize=16777216

RejectThreshold=1048576

I'm not sure that it would read both parameters if both are on the same line.

Houdy Paul,

I found where I got that line for the bufferpool. I dug out my DX10 NOTES. At the bottom of the page where it says "Last Note" you explained BufferPools. I went by that line where BufferPools=1 PoolSize=8388608. At this time I didn't print any new or updated information on your doc. I should be reading more. :Whew: I did make the change in my .cfg file so everything should work like it shoud. I'll let ya know old wise one :yahoo:

I wonder what happened to all the posts added here as I commented on Paul's excellent first video. Others had posted too. All of it is gone. In thin air.

@Paul - That was a great first video! I didn't see any shadows though so maybe Fraps/FS Recorder does not render those.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks, Jim! There's a second one on it's way, too (for the second time - first time it was too big, so they deleted it...) I still don't get cockpit shadows in the Waco. No answer from Alabeo, either. Not nice.

Les!! - Success with the second one! Had to be less than 15 minutes long.. (maybe a good thing).. :wacko:

Post number 5 - the first one was too big.

Circuits at Bowerman.

I still don't get cockpit shadows in the Waco.

I have been thinking about this and the reason you are not getting cockpit shadows is because your cockpit is in 2d. Aircraft with virtual cockpits (3D) have the shadows whereas the 2d panels have none. Make sense?

Best regards,

Jim

I have not flown 2D for half a century, Jim! Naah.. It's Alabeo's lousy development. I didn't even look to see if it even had a 2D 'pit. If Carenado can do it - so can they. Just lazy.

I'm not worried about it - we didn't have it in 9, so why worry? If you have nothing to do this evening - here's another (very quick) tight circuit at Bowerman, but using 1280 x 900 to see if the field of vision is any better, or does the resolution go down the tubes?
