September 25, 201213 yr Author Hi all, In fact I just got done running a test flight over and around Hawaii and the coral is spectacler! This time I have PhotoReal Hawaii running. From the air it is really niice; while taxing not that good. It will take me a day to compile the video and then a good day or so before Drop Box will sync the video. In other words before I get a green arrow on the video. Starting tomorrow I will be starting on it. It is really something to see, if every thing turns out the way I want it. This is something I have wanted to say and that is running more than one monitor at a time. I have run as many as 3 LG 27" at one time. They will run on two Nvidia or EVGA runing SLI. But what will happen is one will be in native resolution and if you move the cursor over each monitor you will see the cursor change in size. I tried it on my system I found out it is a work load o the graphics cards and not worth it for me to do so. Let me know what you think; pro or con. Well it's about 1AM here in good old Iowa. Got to hit the hay. :fool: PS: thank You Jim for starting this forum! It is greatly appreciated now we DX10 simmers have a special place. Les lh
September 25, 201213 yr Author I understand this is not the place to ask this question, but I didn't know of any other place to ask my question. I opened my email this morning and got real surprising email from dropbox. Here is what it said: Hi Lester, This email is an automated notification from Dropbox that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic. Your Dropbox will continue to function normally with the exception of Public links. This suspension is temporary (3 days for the first time). It is a good thing that Avsim doesn't have that rule or I would have been banded the first 3 days of signing on. I have a free account and real reluctant to pay them for space and then be banded? Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Les lh
September 25, 201213 yr That's a surprise, considering my use of DropBox.... September 25, 201213 yr Paul, Is there any way to post videos on Avsim with out using dropbox? Les :( No place here on AVSIM Les. Most people use YouTube. I was thinking about getting a Dropbox account but now that they have cut you off, I'll have to reconsider. It was for free though so I can see their objections. PS: thank You Jim for starting this forum! It is greatly appreciated now we DX10 simmers have a special place. I didn't start this forum. Just one of the moderators. The big boss of AVSIM created the Forum. Looking forward to see more of your videos. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 25, 201213 yr Author Ditto Les! Awesome video! I see some minor stuttering though and think you can get rid of it by opening up the limiter a few more digits. At one time I had my limiter set to 25 and got that slight stuttering until I opened it to unlimited and the stuttering went away. Best regards, Jim Hi Jim, I checked on youtube for thier video formats that they use and they do support .vmw. I do have an account with youtube so I will be makeing my video's and uploading them to my account on youtube and then copying ths url and pasteing them into my post. And then dropping Dropbox... Best regards, Les Hi Les, Good news. Now the bad news! LOL! AVSIM has a video forum where everyone is suppose to post any videos. It's down by the Screenshot Forum. It would be best to post the video in that forum then come back here and make a post stating something like "check out my lastest DX10 Video" then post the link to the post in the AVSIM Flightsim Video forum. That way we will keep all the natives happy. It's easy to do. Just open the link where you posted the video, look up in your Internet Explorer address bar and copy the address, then open up a post here and paste the link into your post. Hope you understand. AVSIM is trying to keep videos and photos and threads where they were set up to be posted. Same thing goes with screenshots as the latest policy says screenshots showing off your aircraft or scenery has to be placed in the screenshot forum UNLESS the photo is being used to show more about what the problems you are having. Hope you understand and thanks in advance for your cooperation. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! It is a 1hr 20min video done in PC Aviators Photo Real Hawaii. I did set my fps in fsx to 65 and the fraps FR @ 60 full screen. The vulcanoes were super along with the all of the peaks including Diamond Head. It is a site to see and in the Waco it even makes it better. I am going to compile the video which will take some time to finish. I am thinking I'll have to do it in a four part series in order to get it all in. It would be a shame to cut a lot of the video out. You want to see coral, you will see it! Along with deep and shallow water! Thanks Jim, I will finish the video and upload it to Youtube and post it on the Video Forum. Thanks for the info.. Les lh

September 29, 201213 yr Author Hi all, I just received an appology from Drop box explaining why DX10 video was band for 3 days. The main reason was the bandwidth the video generated from everyone that was viewing it. Sorry for the incovience, I will be making a new DX10 video and uploading it to YouTube and then posting it on the Avsim video forum which I then will copy the link back to this forum for everyone to see what DX10 looks like. Check back or link this forum and you will get new updates as they come on from everyone. Thanks for the interest in DX10 and the break throughs that everyone is helping with. Les lh
September 29, 201213 yr Thanks for the update Les. If the others are as good as you say, I'm anxious to see your latest but take your time. September 29, 201213 yr i cannot download bad link error 404 I believe the video is no longer there as he received a notice from Dropbox that he exceeded his allocations. September 30, 201213 yr Author Hi everyone, Yes I had a problem with Dropbox and it was that the video I had put up at Dropbox had to many hits on it and it exceeded the times a video could be viewed. The email they respnded to me with was there bandwidth wasn't that large and my video exceeded it. I was also told even if I paid for space I would still get my video banned for 3 days for the first time and then longer the next time. So I deleted my account and it is no longer there nor is the video. I am working on a new video as I type. If everything works out and time allows I should have one up on YouTube and then linked back to the Video Forum and then that link will be pasted in this forum. This has taken me a whole lot longer than I wanted and I will explain why. When I made my DX10 VIDEO I recorded it in Fraps and played the video back with no lag! When I imported it into my video editing program and rendered it, the video came out choppy!! I uninstalled all my video editing programs because none worked, still had the choppy viideo. I was at a stand still at that time   I then loaded in a differnt Waco out of he livery and made another fraps video. I then loaded that video into my video editing program. Low and behold not choppy video! The only thing I could figure was the Waco I was flying had to have a 100 hour tuneup!! :LMAO: or the file was corupted? Any how it is working now to my satisfaction. I could upload the one I had on Dropbox; but this one will have a whole lot more in it and with effects I hope. Just bear wth me and it will come. I wished I would have known all of the rules on dropbox and this wouln't have happend. I will say this I run a video in DX9 today and if I had to run my sim in DX9 I would throw my computer out the window!!
