Direct to Free flight screen

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to stop the default flight and go directly to the free flight screen without a default flight?

Really? would you please point me to it! I have looked and cannot fins it.

At the Free Flight Screen, click on Load, then uncheck make this the default flight.

Best regards,

Jim

That box is not clicked and never was.....I still get the air creation flight.

It will go to whatever .FLT you have spec'd in the fsx.cfg:-

[userInterface]

.

.

SelectAircraftType=All

ShowAllACPaintSchemes=1

SITUATION=C:\Users\pj\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\182Q at Anacortes

Map_Orientation=2

PageID=1

SelectAircraftManufacturer=All

.

.

If you need to recover the "Default" default flight - here it is:-

I am totally confused as to your question. In the General settings you should have the box ticked for showing the opening screen when you first startup FSX. From the opening screen you can set up any type of flight you want then save it as your default flight. Do you want to have a different flight showing in the startup screen other than the one with the trike and Friday's Harbor? But then you say later, in post #5, you already have a flight with the air creation flight when you first start up. So color me confused.

Best regards,

Jim

Well Jim, I said in the first post that I wanted to go dircet to the free flight screen and stop the trike at friday harbor flight!

@Paul, how do I change the default flt in fsx.cfg?

I have tried

Situation=0

Situation=False

It still loads the trike and friday harbor.

I had to repair acceleration and before I did that it would go straight to free flight.

Hi Moe;

Two ways: 1). At some point in the flight - press the " ; " (semicolon key). This will then close the flight window - and go into the save as window. Here you can create a name for the flight, and click in the box at the bottom left corner.

Second way, wherin you asked about changing it in the fsx.cfg:

I assume you have at some point - saved a flight, right?

If so, it will be found in your C:\Users\{your username}\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\ and that .FLT will be there!

Look at the top of the Explorer window - the address bar - and you will see that location: put your mouse pointer over it, and left-click once. This will highlight the address, (and correct it's path) - then all you have to do is to copy that address (Ctrl-C) and put it into your fsx.cfg - under the [userInterface] heading (Ctrl-V) - exactly as mine fsx.cfg below shows. Then just put the saved flight's filename on the end of the line.

I've put some pics on the Dropbox to show you:

OK? :wink:

Her ya go: Make sure your opening screen is checked in General Settings.

You didn't say that! You should have said that in the first place. We cannot read your mind (although I do try hard to read others thoughts). Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully Paul has your answer but I think he's confused too.

Best regards,

Jim

Make sure there is a "1" without the quotes in your FSX.cfg.

PageID=1

If you close FSX and your not on the freeflight page that number will change according to what page you were on and open again on the same page you quit on. For example if you quit FSX and you were looking at your logbook the PageID would equal 4. The settings page would equal 6.

Sounds like your not ending your flight first or you are just closing FSX with the X if in windowed mode or just hitting exit from the menu??
