parachute jump from 120000 ft tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Do it from the International Space Station, then I'll be impressed. :P

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

All jokes and humor aside if you leap out the ISS you'd slowly but surely descend back to Earth. Remember, to accelerate to an escape velocity from 1 million feet needs propulsion. The Earths gravity at that altitude is still almost 1G, so you're not going to float off anywhere by leaping up. You'd needs rockets to escape. ;)

All that nonsense aside, thanks for the heads up Don. ill be sure to watch the stratos jump.

How does the capsule manage to reach such altitude?

Is it launched from ground, just like a rocket?

Helium balloon launch.

The balloon will take it to 120000 feet.

Many may fly and some are rewarded

handsomely, but the wings of gold of a

United States Naval Aviator mean more

than flying. It is dearly bought, requires

sacrifice to keep and represents a way of life.

I hope he succeeds, as it would be an incredible feat. Having said that, I think he's going to die.

Is there enough oxygen to breath at that altitude or is he cheating with a tank of some sort?

Of course he wears a space suit...... btw he might be going supersonic while "falling"....
