Which TCAS Panel has been modeled?

Featured Replies

Just reading my manuals and seen that the 777 has three (maybe more) different types of TCAS panels, which one out the three below have been modeled?

The bottom one seems to be the same one in the 737 and 744, so maybe they're using that one in the T7?

I hope its the dial pad one, easier to use in FS than a knob.

Yeah I like that one, I just remembered - it probably depends on the aircraft they used for the photoshoot?

That is true I think Emirates has the one with the dial.

I think you're right. I think it makes sense to design every system in their 777 from whatever aircraft/simulator they use. Have a problem, go back to that ac/sim and figure it out. It's right where it was and you don't have to track a plane down that is on the other side of the world.

Yeah it's common on the earlier 200's. I've seen lots of BA's with it too.

From looking at other LR cockpits I've seen Number 1 being most common - maybe Ryan or someone can confirm!

Couldn't it be part of the airline options from the repaints?

If we can change/add stuff in the NGX like the MCP and HGS would it be possible to do this for the transponder in the T7?

All these panels work exactly the same. It's just an airline option.

Austrian Airlines (including the ex Lauda air B772) have installed the bottom one.

Not to the way TCAS works, RAs in particular, just the way TAs are displayed. I missed that the third panel as no ABV-N-BLW setting (I was reading the thread on my phone), I admit I thought that was standard for all TCAS. Maybe the altitude filter is automatic on that implementation? ABS-REL just saves the pilot some mental arithmetic.

PMDG will simulate the config they have most information on, as they did with the NGX. It's not really important for us users as TCAS will work correctly whatever panel they choose. Just something else people can speculate about. :)
