Greetings Everyone,

 

First and foremost i would like to thank Paul J for his time in assisting me to setup the dx10.Im really enjoying it.Latest issue im facing is the airport textures.Runway turns blue and the structure of the terminal building and tower is grey.Im using imagine sim and samsoft "the very singapore x" with same results.Any ideas or help is appreciated.

You are not alone my friend. Everyone that runs FSX at DX10 mode and with addon airports has this issue. It's the only BIG problem that until now that i'm typing these lines is not solved. You will notice that it happens only at dawn and dusk. So until someone fix it you have to fly at daytime.

Just checked on the FSDreamteam forum - the scenery's which support DX10 are JFK, KDFW and KLAX, and it looks like all their future airports will be compatible, too. :good:

This is a promising sign that some dev's are noticing DX10! Thanks for checking into this, I hope that more dev's will consider not only future projects with dx10 options but maybe for some to "retrofit" them, though I understand from some reading that apparently this is a pretty labour and time intensive process.

 

Have you heard whether the Traffic 360 software is dx10 compatible? I've been hunting around and asking but not hearing anything back. THinking of switching from UT2 in the event that it's better (and perhaps more frame rate friendly) but not sure yet. I thought I'd ask since you seem to know a lot of what's going on in the DX10 word these days!

Hi Gizmo! Good to see you're managing DX10! and having a good time! :biggrin:

 

'Fraid I don't know about UT, Alex - I use MyTafficX5.3 which is compatible, and having just completed a rebuild, I found it also has no issues with textures missing alphas or mip-mapping. It's great on frames, too.

 

Sorry - I had never heard of Traffic 360 until your post! Duh! I went to the JustFlight site and have sent an email to their support team, asking your question, and I'll post back here as soon as I get an answer. It looks like a good package, with some neat features, maybe not as huge as UT or MTX, but quite likely good enough for the average simmer.

I own FSDT JFK and ORD. JFK seems fine but ORD has work with exception of the center taxi lights that are grey squares rather than lights.

Hey, Mark! Those would fit in very nicely with KBOS, KBUF, KPHL, CYUL and CYYZ.. wouldn't they!

 

....and I just purchased FSDT KLAX... :lol:

 

 

I want to see just what a real DX10 airport looks like! I'll post some pics..

Not forgetting both there Hawaii scenery along with PHNL.

Works great in DX10

However unfortunately FSDreamteam's LSZH doesn't look like being DX10 compatible (up to now?)

Hmmm... would be nice if Umberto found a way to automate the changes needed in the older packages.. :lol:

Now if only Orbx would start supporting it. I'd like to give DX10 another go with some of the tweaks that have been suggested to fix the screen tearing I was getting but I want to avoid issues with FTX England when it is released. That and also with my library of UK2000 airports.

SimmAddons Halifax and Toronto (CYTZ) are beautifully compatible.
