Sunny summer's day above England

Featured Replies

I've moved to England. Awesome place. (My sincere apologies to everyone whom I offended when I said it was BORING...!). I also switched to summer: in PNW spring was the best looking season but in England spring has some awful trees and I get a bit tired of all those yellow fields... so summer it is from now on.

BTW Since England is rather flat, I am looking forward to doing some VOR flying again, something that was a bit hard to do in the mountains of NA... Anyone knows a site where I can find information for triangulation for every airport in England?

Liverpool after take off.

It's amazing to see how sharp everything looks so extremely low! Is England the sharpest Orbx addon up to now...?

Some very dense forests too!

And er... some very daft forests too... Who put those trees there! Note (although you can hardly see if from here) the detail on the airport: I love all those static planes and cars!

Beautiful! I just installed my England, but haven't had time to fly yet. I look forward to it.

How is it looking with UK2000 airports?

Even if you fly airliners like I do you will love the realistic look and feel of this scenery from higher altitudes. It just "feels" like England. The look and sizes of the fields are spot on with what you will see on Google Maps, the tree lines look like they should and the layout of houses is far more authentic than anything GEX/UTX could provide. I will be using this for my VA. I'm disappointed at the stutters I tend to get with Orbx scenery but I think I can live with it.

I did a quick test taking off from London Heathrow and flew up to 16,000 ft in my Airbus X. One thing I immediately loved was how it actually felt like I was that high - GEX never really gave me the impression of being as high-up as I felt it should have. Maybe it's because the fields were all so big, repetitive and generic. The landscape variety here is a wonder to behold.

Bring on the rest of the UK and all of Europe!

PS. I do not live in England and do not know the areas as if they were written on the fibers of my heart like a few people here do so some of the missing landmarks they point out aren't an issue for me. I'm sure if I lived there though I'd agree with everything they say - I pretty much tore apart the Orbx depiction of Hawkes Bay in NZNI =S.

Yes you can

These shots leave me speechless. Well done.

A fine set indeed!

I feel guilty about putting this higher on my shoping list than FlyTampa's Dubai :(

I would start thinking about adding UK2000 airports to EGN J, They blend in so well, fps friendly and look amazing. Enjoy I will keep an eye out for you flying over my house. Hehe

Am I the only one who thinks this work is clearly below Orbx standards?

Thanks LEEL also I have UK VFR I take it its either that or ORBX EU? One or the other not both, ? Would I just untick the one I dont want from scenery library? Thanks again. Wayne.

Yeah it's one or the other. Unticking should be just fine.
