Installed FS2Crew update - now no 737NGX textures

Featured Replies

Just installed the latest update for FS2Crew and when I started FSX my 737NGX aircraft were all skeletons... you know, like seats on a flat bed truck! Everything else seems fine. Now, I did lose all my add-on liveries when I upgraded FS2Crew and had to re-download them and install them (using the installer, of course). What could have gone wrong and how to I get my textures back.

Thanks,

Jeff Even

Very odd,

Did you make sure that the PMDG aircraft version is SP1C?

Hi, Alex. Yeah, I checked that. Really strange. Now I'm not so much concerned about what caused it as how to get my textures back.

Thanks for the reply.

Would it work if I did a system restore to before I upgraded FS2Crew?

Jeff

I'm going to go ahead and do a system restore and see what happens. I'll let you know.

Wouldn't let me restore back far enough. HELP?

Hi Jeff,

just a thought.

1. I noticed in your screenshot that it is still at the menu. Have you actually gone ahead and pressed the "Fly Now" button in FSX and seen if the problem persists once you're set up at a gate?

2. Just in case, have you got EZDOK (EZCA)? I didn't see it in your specs, but just in case you do have it I'd recommend running the EZCA config manager again rior to starting FSX.

Let us know how you go.

Rgds,

Hi, Steve...

Yeah, I tried actually opening the aircraft but got the same picture... only at the gate. Don't know about EZDOK but I'll check it out.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi all,

Same problem here, I have the rear of the plane is " Skeleton " since the upgrade.

I also updated AS2012 and installed Orbx ENG.

I am investigating and will report if I find a solution.

Yep. HIGHMEMFIX=1. Take a look at this screenshot and tell me if it's right.

Thanks to everyone...

Jeff

No, What is it ?

" HIGHMEMFIX=1 "

I have 16G of RAM on board, so I guess this might be some setting, but how does it work ?

How about this one?

JB; It's my "microsoft flight simulator x/PMDG/PMDGNGX" folder.

Jeff

Ok I see thanks but what I am supposed to do ?

Thank you

Hate to be so obsessed by this... BUT... Here are a couple more screen shots for your analysis.

Now I just re-installed PMDG 737NGX SP1 to make sure it wasn't deleted or corrupted. Now I've lost all my 737NGX add-on aircraft again. Not a major problem because I can re-install them but the "skeleton" problem continues. I've check my other aircraft, i.e. LevelD, etc. and they are all fine. DAMN!!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

it's difficult to guesstimate what is actually happening.

My first guess is always (through experience) when I see a corrupted looking texture problem, that if the person has EZDOK installed that it needs to be reconfigured everytime you reinstall a new livery.

If you don't have EZDOK, I would be inclined to delete a livery ".ini" file. Go to one of your NGX aircraft liveries (texture folder) located in your FSX Simobjects folder. Choose which aircraft livery you want to test. (eg Qantas NGX 800WL). If you go into the actual texture folder you will see a config file named something like "VH-EBA.ini". Delete it.

Then restart FSX, choose that particular aircraft in the FSX menu, and start it up. FS2 Crew will rebuild that (ini) file automatically. See how it looks in the menu window. If it is still skeletal, damn! If not, problem solved.

Hope I'm not wasting your time with this, but just thinking of options to try to remediate the problem.

See how you go.

Rgds,

Steve
