Installed FS2Crew update - now no 737NGX textures

Featured Replies

Did you disable FS2crew before the update?

I believe the instructions were to uninstall before installing the SP. If that's what the instructions were, that's what I did. Usually pretty careful about stuff like that.

STEVE; I am not using EZDOC. I deleted the .ini file you suggested and tried to open that aircraft. Same thing. When I went back to that Texture folder there was no .ini file rebuilt.

The mystery continues...

I'm attaching some more screenshots of my files. Hopefully you or someone can compare to theirs and get an idea of what to do.

Thanks again everyone.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

1. My apologies re the deletion of that particular "ini" file. If you can, go to your recycle bin and restore it. (If not, just reinstall the livery with your livery manager).

2. Again, trial & error: Delete the "options.ini" file located in your PMDG 737 NGX Folder. FS2 Crew will rebuild it. See what happens.

3. I've conducted a bit of research about this problem and the solution does vary;

a) graphics card reinstall of latest drivers

B) highmemfix=1 (into the graphics section of your fsx cfg file)

c) reinstall of FSX - vanilla fsx first - then run a short flight for a couple of minutes with a default a/c - install SP1 next - then run a short flight again - install SP2/Acceleration - then run a short flight again. Then install add-ons 1 at a time (aircraft add-ons and flying/loading for a couple of minutes each add-on)

That's about all I could locate thus far.

4. Just to clarify: Bryan from FS2 Crew thread on the updated version and installation procs: (just to ensure procs were followed correctly)

Let us know how you go. Good Luck.

Hi Jeff,

The update changes were pretty minor, and no one else has reported the skeletons before.

Please try running your FSX.CFG again through ******* Bejote's FSX CFG tweaker tool.

I suspect your FSX.CFG has issues.

Also, for FS2Crew Support, please also ask in the FS2Crew forum.

I don't check the PMDG forum that often.

Cheers,

Hi, Bryan. Thanks. I wasn't sure whether I should post it both with FS2Crew and PMDG. Are you sure ******* Bejote's FSX CFG tweaker tool is still working? I follow the instructions but when I click on begin here I get a message that says no file was sent. How the heck do I "send" the file?

Back to the original problem... puzzling thing is that it is only happening with my PMDG 737NGX aircraft, even after I have re-downloaded them and re-installed them.

Would it be worth it to pay to re-download the entire 737NGX program from PMDG? Should that help?

Jeff

Ok I see thanks but what I am supposed to do ?

Thank you

I suggest for you to read the intoduction manual its all in there why and how to use the highmenfix=1 its on page 12

*******' page is working OK. Fill in the bits required and then just follow Steps 1 and 2 carefully and the fsx.cfg file will be selected. I would try that before downloading everything again.

I'm not a complete idiot but when I follow the instructions for *******' CFG tool (fill in the blanks, use provided string in "run" to open fsx.cfg in notepad, and then "click here to begin", I get a message saying "Your request could NOT be processed. Reason: No file was sent!" How the hell do I send the damn thing? Seems pretty straight forward. H E L P!

Just noticed that when I actually hit FLY NOW... this is the panel I get...

Hi jeff now i would send the support ticket in strange about the fsx.cfg not working with the ******* tool, its not set to read only by any chance not that would make any difference

Jeff - when you say you reinstalled the NGX, did you remember to go into your AppData directory and remove the PMDG files from there? I had corrupt panels once and that was required in order to get the reinstall to work. And obviously need to run everything as Admin.

Thanks, Paul. I've been running everything as administrator since day 1. I didn't reinstall NGX, just the NGX liveries. Should I pay for the re-download and reinstall the full NGX? What do you think? I guess it couldn't do any harm.

Dont tell me you didnt save the original exe some where, if you have just a matter of re installing, if havnt than iam afraid you going to buy the extendered download service. Or if you put a support ticket in and see how you go wioth that but dont like your chances. So next time when you get the new ngx exe installer pays you to save it for next time when this occurs

It's the PMDG folder in /AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX

I'm not an advocate for doing a reinstall every time something goes wrong but I specifically had corrupt panels, opened up a ticket with PMDG, and this is what they recommended. However, it wasn't until I did the reinstall with also removing the files from above that it fixed the issue. Since the panel issues here popped up after a FS2Crew upgrade, I don't know if the results would be the same...

Just ordered the re-download. Hopefully that will fix it. I'll let you know.

Thanks everyone!!
