November 19, 201213 yr Who wants to become a pilot for Emirates ? Move to the other side of the planet for a job that I do not have a license to have? No. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
November 19, 201213 yr Everyone? :LMAO: It's the airline most Brits go to after their low cost airline jobs. Good friend of mine flies the B777 for them - sounds like a decent airline; but very, very strict. If they kept the deal they're offering now once I have the hours- I'd probably apply; heard some fantastic things about their bidding systems. - Luke Pabari
November 19, 201213 yr for a job that I do not have a license to have? What? Emirates requires you to have a valid ATPL that is ICAO certified, AKA as any FAA ATPL. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
November 19, 201213 yr What? I should have said I do not have a pilot's license right now so I can't get a job with Emirates. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
November 19, 201213 yr I have heard good things about flying for EK and bad things. It seems like a pretty decent job though. But you have to live in Dubai. It is not like CX which has some bases around the world. At least a few in North America. Steven Herzberg, "I rather be flying"
November 19, 201213 yr You'd get to fly the "trombone" approach to runways 12L and 12R at Dubai. I think that's what they call it. Dugald Walker
November 19, 201213 yr I know someone who was a QF 737 captain and applied for Emirates. They paid for him and his family to move to Dubai after Christmas, a place to live and 3 months of 777 training. BTW is the training conducted at DXB?

November 19, 201213 yr First Officer=4000 Hours. Yes that's if you're flying privately or something - if you've been flying for another Airline (e.g. RyanAir's B738's or EasyJet Airbuses) "Modern Commercial Multi-Engine/Multi-Crew jet" - then it's 2,500. BTW is the training conducted at DXB? Yeah EK have a wonderful training facility. I believe before you join you might also have to convert your ATPL or do something with it (Looking on their website it doesn't say it any more so it may not be a requirement as long as it's ICAO) - Luke Pabari

The TR is paid for by them and you have to stay with them for a number of years. I thought it was 4000 hours.
November 19, 201213 yr What? Emirates requires you to have a valid ATPL that is ICAO certified, AKA as any FAA ATPL. Bad thing about an FAA ATPL is that you have to go into Flight Instruction or just be rich to gain the hours to go on to Airlines. That's the main reason I have no intentions of doing anything further than a Private License here. You guys really need to do it like Europe- if you needed 1,500 hours in the UK then there really would be a shortage of pilots there. I thought it was 4000 hours. Read: - A minimum of 4000 hours total flying time (may include 25% P3 or FEO time to a max of 500 hours) - A minimum of 2000 hours multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft (P3 time cannot be used for this requirement). OR - A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time on a modern commercial multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft jet (P3 time cannot be used for this requirement)- So if you've been flying say an Airbus 320 or B738 with the hours then you're good. My mate joined from Jett2 (B737). - Luke Pabari

November 19, 201213 yr I'm hoping to make it to an ATPL in the US though I've heard it can be a grinding first couple of years for regional pilots. I'm on my phone right now but if I remember correctly Qatar were asking for military requirements.
