FSX Orbx England, EGNL to EGNC

Featured Replies

FSX, using Orbx England, REXE Plus + Overdrive, OpusFSX and Carenado's Cessna CT182T Skylane ... (shh, I haven't told the wife about that one yet)

Flightplan: Walney Island (EGNL) to Carlisle (EGNC) | .pln file; right-click, "save link as..." to "C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files" folder. From there you can easily activate the plan within FSX.

Here's a dozen or so <edit> make that 9, to remain within the rules </edit>, images taken from flying the flight plan above. Click a thumb-nail to see the full-sized 1680 x 1050 .png file screen-shot.

Monte,

Thanks a bunch for the map and screens! I'll try to fly the route tonight... Looks sweet indeed!!!

PS: Btw, I tried to get my hands on your .PLN file but it seems the link is down... Can you pls check that?

Hmm, seems a lot of folks are having issues downloading it.

... ??? ...

That's strange... the file isn't right. I've re-uploaded it and it should work fine now.

Apparently I can't have a raw .pln file on my server for some reason, so I've upload a .zip file with the FSX .pln file in it, get it here :

Thanks, Monte!

The zip worked OK...

Thanks for pointing out the file download issue to me. :)

It's a short flight over the scenic lakes area of north-west England, and very pleasant if you can find a non-rainy day to fly!

Well now. See screenshot #3? That is a "landclass" version of my home town of Ulverston, Cumbria. The "L" shaped section of water that can be seen is the head of a mile long canal that is now cut off from the sea by a lock.

In the FTX screenshot the colours look more vibrant, is that due to seasonal changes?

The ground textures look "bleached" and the forests seem to stand out.

I am not criticizing your screenshots - just enquiring after the discrepancy between your screenshots (and those from other users which are similar) and those from the developer.

Cheers,

@Sascha: I'll guess that my shots are more drab and dreary due to the cool and rainy weather present. Even the couple shots with partial sun are subdued. This could be an effect of REX textures and/or OpusFSX's weather engine also.

Finally, let me stress these shots are not altered or 'Photoshopped' in any way. The shots were taken with Fraps in .png format, and altered only in being renamed and a copy of each resized and saved in .jpg format (for the thumbnail images.)
