November 25, 201213 yr I have the REX plus weather engine..which gets the meta data and sends weather themes to FSX on a set frequency. This makes my weather go from low visibility to high visibility and back frequently (Same for winds and so forth). How do I make the system change the weather more gradually from one stage to another? Is there a setting in REX or FSUIPC that I could use? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 25, 201213 yr I use AS2012, and I do not experience such changes. I use it without FSUIPC because I do not need this excellent add-on since I have no special hardware or configurations for my controllers. AS2012 gives very smooth weather transitions, and has three different modes of functioning to smooth various weather variables deppendeing on your type of flight. November 26, 201213 yr This has been said a lot recently around the forums: "Opus" Work's for me. With every new beta Opus just gets worse and worse. It's funny how it goes from pretty good to suddenly when adding more features that REX and AS have had forever like expanded stations, upper winds, etc. they run into the exact same problems the other companies have run into years ago. AES2012 is still the superior weather addon with you use the beta SP2

Manny Manny, I'm using REX Essentials + and I DO NOT experience this. I am using the new weather component (Plus) not the Standard weather. I have the checkbox for 'use real visibility' or whatever it is called, checked. I am totally amazed and happy w/ REX E Plus. There are a few other settings--DEFINITELY read their manual about how to set it up for best results. I did and have ZERO complaints. As I have it set up now, it is absolutely as good as weather could get I'm sure. November 26, 201213 yr Author Manny, I'm using REX Essentials + and I DO NOT experience this. Yeah..mine is REX Essential + too. I do not experience this when flying around NA. My flight was from Katmandu to N.Delhi. Not sure if its because in that geographic area there not many weather stations? and NA has plenty maybe? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

I had a single event happen during a 400m flight but it was manageable for sure. November 26, 201213 yr I'm using REXE+. There are several things you can do to reduce the abrupt changes. The WXPlus mode is very good in itself, but if you don't use that you can still increase your "Weather Surface Region" and "Weather Refresh Rate" which reduces the number of times REX reads the weather and alters it. If you are not using WXPlus mode, enable "weather 3D smoothing" in the weather engine screen. This causes REX to pre-load weather so that the transitions are smoother. The WXPlus mode is meeting my needs. I just did a long flight from Key West to Nassau in a Seneca II. The transitions were smooth all the way in a flight that took about an hour and half. Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.
