I am totally fed up with FSX and its crashes. I went as far as purchasing a new computer with much higher specs than the last one I had JUST so I can play this crap, and the stupid game still CTD!! CTD's make the game boring and not very enjoyable at all. When I have to continually start my virtual airline flights over again (starting up the aircraft and taxiing to the runway too many times unnecessarily really ####### me off).. Anyway, this little rant goes to Microsoft...FIX THIS CRAPPY GAME! because its certainly NOT the computers fault! At this point, Microsoft is on my sh-- list.

yea, but I see Prepared 3d misses on certain levels of realism, i.e. landing sounds, cockpit, wind ect. but I hear X-plane is a lot better than FSX. I might have to give it a try. Hopefully I can use all the addons I purchased for FSX with X-plane..or can I?

there is a fsx/xp10 scenery converter available.

I am totally fed up with FSX and its crashes.

I have a hard time understanding this after 6 years of using FSX... I am sure I could count less than a handful of CTDs in that time - on three different computers... (there was usually something going on / wrong, on my end... scenery problem or oc... there was the one fix Pete Dowson did inside fsuipc to fix an FSX issue... and the menu issue).

Unless chuchu... you are using a 32bit version of Windows? (whatever it is I hope somehow it gets resolved - I believe you that it is very frustrating).

You should check the Prepar3d forum as I read most things port over no problem.

Unfortunately Microsoft laid off (fired) the FSX development team and there will be no more updates or fixes. Perhaps Lockheed Martin will fix it but they can't do much. Did you see the software and hardware guide put out by Word Not Allowed - http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/? Not sure whether you are overclocked or what your system specs are but a lot of problems can occur just with the operating system. If you would like, you can download the following utility and it will tell us what caused FSX to crash - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html. Run it and copy and the info in the lower pane and paste it here in this post. Many crashes too are caused by addons. One of the most aggressive addon that crashes a lot is the ENB Series mod. There have been many successful installations but most of the time this mod crashes FSX immediately. If you would like to pursue, we need to know some of your system specs, such as Windows 7, 64 bit? i7 3770K CPU? GTX 680 video card? And what have you installed? FSX/Acceleration or FSX, SP1 and SP2?

I have honestly stayed away from FSX crashes for the most part and know it can run for a long time without a CTD. It's when you start adding more addons that starts to bring FSX down (and your computer too). If you look at some of the various posts in this forum you will get an idea as to what others have gone through and how they have fixed their problem(s).

Best regards,

Jim

Kind of you to step in here Jim...

chuchu I hope you can resolve it... Jim (and there are others) who can get you squared away.

hi,

it would be nice if you relax and then the information will come to you. the one thing i suggest is UIAutomationCore.dll this fixes those random crashes fsx has all those's times from moving view or on final approach. trust me mate this really works and for somebody like me who was getting constantly frustrated on a perfect approach from a 4 hour flight., this .ddl defiantly did the trick not a single crash in the last 6 weeks apart from enb, mehhh but that normal there will always be a crash in that.

many thanks bilal

I have a stable FSX, no crashes, no OOM at all. I just folowed some rules that i learned over the years, and this last fsx instalation is stable.

I only wish I could say I had few crashes. I flew with SP1 for a long time, only installing SP2 when I bought some add-on that required it. SP1: 3 crashes in 8 months. SP2: crash every 3 flights, usually. This is on 2 different computers, 2 different operating systems, 2 different brands of graphics cards. I'm having a run of good luck at the moment though (having said that, I'll probably get a crash on the very next flight). I've tried all the things people say to do, but it hasn't helped. Hours of research turned up that once you start getting crashes, you'll keep getting them.

I don't have add-on scenery. I have a few add-on aircraft. I have a couple of other add-ons, but I still get crashes when they're disabled.

I've given up trying to fix it. If the flight is important, I'll save every half hour.

Chuchu,

Are you using ENB series by any chance? That caused me six month's worth of CTD's and deleting those files resoved the issue.

These are the flies are am referring to (bottom of all the screenies) You have to be logged onto REX forum to view the link.

I don't see a problem yet but I do know a lot of people have had problems with FS Passengers for some reason. Haven't seen any problems running the others though. Your system should certainly be able to run FSX and any addon without any problems. If you could provide us with a look at the last CTD that would be helpful.

Thanks.

Jim
