December 3, 201213 yr Hello, Denver is a hub for my VA and I would like to have something better than the stock FSX airport now that I fly to Denver often. It appears Imaginesim DEN FSX is the only option out there and I have read mixed reviews about this add-on. Do any of you have and advice as to whether I should purchase this add-on or not? Any personal reviews? I use FSX. Thanks in advance! James
December 3, 201213 yr I had the FS2K4 scenery but never upgraded to FSX. I liked the FS2K4 version. Here's one review I found done back in 2011 this is well-done - http://www.simflight.com/2011/09/16/review-imaginesim-denver-kden/. I noticed on the site where you can buy it, there's a demo version which you can download and try out before you buy it. I would highly recommend it! December 4, 201213 yr Author Bad building textures (especially the glass), blurry ground textures, and bad frames for FSX.

Hi Aaron, Do you know if there is a rendition of the old Stapleton airport that would work in FSX? Before getting retired in 1998 I was working (here in Europe) for a medical company based in Lakewood (close to Simm's Landing ) and I used to travel to Denver 5 to 6 times a year for a stay of 1 to 2 weeks. I had two "home" airports : Brussels airport and Stapleton  . I am also the first European (most certainly the only one) to have made a touch and go in an ultralight at DIA one week before it's opening (there used to be a small ultralight airfield close to I70 not far from DIA). Jean-Jacques Unfortunately I'm not aware of any scenery for Stapleton. Would indeed be great to see though for those "classic" flights. It's a very small world though, as I too am working for a medical manufacturing company in Lakewood, and was with them back in 98. Mind me asking who you worked for? Was it Cobe/Gambro by chance? - Aaron
December 4, 201213 yr Hello Aaron, Small world indeed! Yes it was Cobe. I was hired by Ran Bellows (one of the two co-founders) back in 1973 to start Cobe in Europe. It was the good old time when we were still covering the three therapies (renal care, cardio-vascular and blood component therapy). I think that the only left now is Gambro BCT. I still have a lot of contacts with many of my previous american colleagues. Most of them are retired now, like me. But we happen to meet here in Europe (my wife is seriously handicapped, so we cannot travel that far any more), and also thanks to the internet, we keep in close contact with each other. So, I guess you must be working for Gambro BCT. I saw the address is now Collins ave, around the corner of Oak str. I did spend so much time in Denver and Colorado that it became my second home country. Still a fan of the Broncos and still listening to KYGO 98.5 #1 Country thanks to the internet ;-) Jean-Jacques Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
December 4, 201213 yr I am also the first European (most certainly the only one) to have made a touch and go in an ultralight at DIA one week before it's opening (there used to be a small ultralight airfield close to I70 not far from DIA). I'd vote for someone modeling the old Stapleton as well, but I doubt there'd be much call for it. And some memories behind the opening of DIA for me too. Shortly before the airport opened, they did a big GA fly-in (Fall of '94, I think) to introduce the local pilot community to the airport and give the controllers some practice. Landing procedures were a bit like OSH, landing long and short on most runways. It was a hoot to land, taxi right to a gate (it was a LOOONG taxi from where I landed, and I was stuck behind a guy in a Pits having to do slow S-turns the whole way) and head on up into the concourse for a tour. Don't remember the numbers, but there was a lot of local interest, so they handled a LOT of airplanes that day. Gotta try to dig out those photos of my plane sitting parked at a gate at DIA. :-) Scott
December 4, 201213 yr Scott, that must have been a thrilling experience! I remember watching the TV reports showing the various failing tests of the automatic luggage delivery system which took ages to work properly. One of those TV reports showed in 1994 the new terminal at the Brussels Airport which was also equipped with an automatic luggage delivery system. The reporter made me smile with his comment "and there, it's working". In 1995, when DIA finally opened, I flew in at Stapleton on a friday at the end of february and left from DIA early march. They split from Gambro entirely becoming a private holding company under the name CaridianBCT, and we were purchased by the Japanese company "Terumo" a little over a year ago, now known as Terumo BCT. Clearly the BCT portion is what they considered as branded and as such the only portion of the name they have maintained. I worked for Renal Care from about 97 to 99 before getting laid off, and I have since come back after a 10 year absence. The campus location has not changed, although just about everything around it has, including the streets. At any rate, pretty crazy how paths cross in some strange ways, especially as you already noted with the internet bringing everything/one a lot closer than they used to be. Nice to meet you, and all my best. - Aaron

NoahBryant, can you tell me why you like it so much?
December 4, 201213 yr Yes, crazy indeed! One of the BCT engineers talked me into subscribing into Compuserve. We used it a lot to communicate. I also found a flight simulation forum on CS which I visited regularly before discovering Avsim on the internet and slowly moving from CS to Avsim. All the best to you too Aaron!
