December 6, 201213 yr I know this is probably very subjective but Can someone give me the pro's and cons on wether to get one of the fs2crew pieces of software I currently fly the pmdg 737ngx and 747 for fsx. I don't have a headset to speak, or the the head movement software(can't remember what its called ) ,so would having this be of any use to me,Iknow my way around flight decks very well and pretty much know the startup and shutdown procedures due to having to start and shutdown engines regularly so would this software give me any extra fun! Thanks for any advise Pete Little
December 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Pete, Avsim just published a thorough review: http://forum.avsim.n...mdg-737ngx-r903 I suggest reading it over. You don't need a headset... you can use the 'Button Control' version. The NGX is the most popular -and best- FS2Crew of the current lot. Compared to the older ones, it's a 1000 miles ahead. It's on sale right now (Xmas 25 Percent off Coupon)... it's pretty hard to go wrong with it. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 7, 201213 yr A quck opinion from a user and not the developer. A headset is helpful and worth the investment for the immersion. You could use a regular mike if you wanted to or just use the button version. You do not need the head turning thing. (trackIR) I don't have it, don't want it and don't need it. There are too many pros to mention: realism, forcing you to fly with proper procedures and the extra set of hands. Sure, I have a switch to raise gear but I can say "gear up" and have it done for me. So cool. The only negative is that it takes a couple flights to get used to it and learning the right trigger phrases, but there are plenty of walk through guides. If you like to fly the realistic add ins (like the NGX) in a realistic way it is an essential app in my experience. And, Bryan is a good guy and hands on developer. December 11, 201213 yr You'll love it! Besides the NGX - although it can be flown one hand only as you know, is supposed to be flown by a crew of two - it makes the flow so much easier especially when VATSIM gets really busy.
December 11, 201213 yr I am sold, as soon as I feel confident enough I'll get it. I do need to learn all systems and procedures thoroughly before I venture into FSCrew.
December 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member I do need to learn all systems and procedures thoroughly before I venture into FSCrew. You don't need to be an 'expert, but you should know how to go from A to B and program the FMC. FS2Crew takes care of the procedures part mostly. Cheers, B.
